hahah err yeah. whatever man. if you're not sayin' for any reason, i'm not interested then. yeah it was a typo meant ,"U assume how i think". my bad I forgot I'm not doing recording as a business. i'm just an enthusiast who doesn't have the proper qualifications to run one. I'm in for the passion/sound. I got my average office job which I'm in for the money. and yeah I understand the cost to maintain and the cost to keep running. just that I doubt if we're on the same financial frequency at all.doesn't matter anyway. here's a line drawn from here, I mind my own stuff then and good luck with yours. I'll be looking forward to hearing your mixes soon (not from you) and just have my fair share of mixes to feed my interests laterz

darren: Dude dun wori , i can take care of my own biz. thks for ur advice. I am sure your recordings r topnotch n u noe ur stuff , so no competition. our mkt is diff. i cater to mainly starters who wan a proper set up to record n jam n i link up them to master else where. Give these new guys a shot at it without the high set up and reasonable rent. i lose some money u noe that. i am cool with that coz i go a day job and getting married. less time to spend at the studio. so i rent it out til my lease ends.

bluestudio : thanks for the defence. u r one nice dude. my sound guy also working full time olready. so at the moment i not doing recording. equipment just lying there.

Kerfei, the best thing is that you post the pictures and specifications online at a personal site thus your target audience is bigger.

Anyways, i hear of my many studios saying how original their software is or how top-notch their equipment is but it all come down to the point of whether you can produce a sound quality as top-notch as your equipment.

Piracy or not, it's the final product that counts.

it will be $600 per month per band. 5 ppl then its $120 per pax.
plus can jam as many hours as you want.

i was thinking of soin business too..as in let outsiders jam or record their music ...we can ask blueprint to help them out but we'll take 15% of whut he earns of something...can cover a lil of the cost also can...so interested chan min??

erm ... well Darren's studio is heaven sent for bands who wanna go jamming and stuff... most comfortable jam studio in singapore.

ive recorded basic stereo demos there with a few bands already , and each time they've received good responses here in soft. and those demos cost me .. what? ... $5 / hr??

well , just to justify darren's experience la... nothing else...

azly : dude, you need a business licence etc + legal software to function as a fullfledged studio legally man. no relation to sound we talking about law here hehe.

chanmin : yeah i've heard the turbochicken jam session series it was cool stuff. its a no wonder it costs ya $5 per hr the band's tight hehe. one shot one kill. gd stuff man. there's ewe-hardcore.com 's recording also.

deedeeboi : har. my new rate is ($5 cover transport/parking/labour) $25 per hr for recordin instruments and the band still has to pay additional full jamming studio rental fees.and $20 per hr for vocals or anything acoustic can record at my place no extra fees. you still want to take $3.75 from me? i thought bringing business to the jam-studio enough.. hehe my mixing is free. and yep I take way longer to mix than to record. and that, I believe it's my problem and shouldn't charge per hr rate for it. how bout when you rent the place , if none of your partners know stuff about recording, I show ya a cost efficient way to record using a comp la hehe so you can provide demo recording services also? anyway do it asap man.. i guess darren may just email kerfei and expand another branch of smp studio before you get to count your chicks from your egg basket. :wink:

i'm interested.. mayb could get like 3 or 4 bands to share the cost??then its like a place we can chill out at and also jam together.. plus kinda unlimited jamming hours.. at most just have to confer with each other to arrange the jamming times and days.. can book among ourselves.. now all i gotta do is inspire my band to participate in this venture..

me and a couple of my friends are still deciding about it ... gotta see the venue ferst.. ANd yes, its alwys been a dream to me having the studio..I wanna e the next NASH from fourtones..hur2..KEep those partnership coming dudes!!...i need more!!..haha...I'm doin this fer the passion of music and local talents coz i feel that there are bands way better than foreign bands...so why not look upon our local bands??..Its gonna take time but being member of soft is definately an advantage... :lol:

yeah..i actually talked over it with some softies and ma friends..lots of ideas..but ferst things ferst we gotta see the place if it werks out...wanna join me blueprint..i'll keep ya updated on msn...WE're doin it fer the local scene..maybe some local clothing wears might wanna join the partnership and stuff like that..all local bands tee or sumthin..hahah..wouldnt knoe!!...passion boy...passion!!...but not having those high hopes though...keeping fingers crossed!!>.hahah

deedeeboi : heheh i'm not in t-shirt design and all. usually I let the other guys do their stuff. don't want to try too hard to 1 person do everything. label. recording.jamming.webdesign etc. just focus on the rental first and raise the capital / number of ppl into it

Hi dun mind me asking, so what happens after your lease is over? does that mean we have to rent from the landlord? if tats so, you're gonna leave the equipments there for us to use or you r gonna collect some rent for it? sorry if din get the whole picture and asked some stupid questions. cheers.

very simple. the least got 1 year 9 mths left. if u guys wana continue, i will renew the lease.
you will pay 1800 for renting n running the place. watever ideas u have, or u wan tp share studio with your frens band, up to you.
as for the equipment, they are still my equipment. expensive stuff, marshall amps and fender amps , p.c, mackie console pre amp ,stage forum drums , plus plus. the equippment are not yours since u nvr bought them frm me, they cost ard 15k.
But, u will use them fully for yourself once u rent the studio . But hey will not leave the studio
