vpost trouble

so i recently bought a used Carvin Legacy off E.bay

i used vpost.
i told the seller to send it to the vpost warehouse to Compton, since he was living in Irvine.
he has sent it and it has been received and signed for at Compton.

here's the problem,
i received an email from the vpost, telling me

"Kindly be informed that if this package is to be delivered to our office at Compton then please re-direct it to Portland as no amplifiers are allowed to ship out from Compton."

i also called their hotline, and they told me it was due to 'strict customs'...

and i have to pay for the 're-direction'
it doesn't say anywhere on their site of such a policy.

any of you know anything about this?
would really appreciate any advice i could get

Sounds like bullshit. Customs does not screen items leaving the country, they only screen items coming INTO the USA.

Moreover, amplifiers/guitars are not a prohibited item or an issue for quarantine so I don't see why the item has to be shipped elsewhere?

Call their HQ and clear this out with them. All the best
