Those should be able to help you, just a couple of sites off Google. Mainly it would be good to look out for the guitar shapes and type of wood. Otherwise, go to a couple of shops and ask the sales people to recommend you some and tell them the tone you want. Best to try out a few brands and models and see which you're most comfortable with.

i dont know about brands but try jumbo and dreadnought guitars. they give the sound you want. but hey, you have try out yourself to suit your own preference (:

i'm khair btw.

hahah

heheheh ,

THANKS THANKS , THANKS TO ALL , HAHAHAHAH .
i think i got one in my mind already . ;D .
HELLO KHAIR , HAHAHAHAH .

Bro i tried Epiphone acoustic guitars the other time i went to Swee Lee at SimsDrive. I tell u man, the sound is sooooo good. And the price is really nice too.

Hey man,

For more results, you can try the search button. Usually, Maestro, J&D and Takamine are recommended. ;)

KingDiamond: I agree with you. It sounds good!

Try Takamine? For deep tone go for a jumbo body acoustic, and with a bright sounding wood like spruce or cedar for the top, and a warm sounding wood for the back and sides like mahogany. But try 'em out of course.

True. Will surely get that warm tone from a jumbo.

My vote is for the Custom Acoustic FG27E or FG52E, both are available at City Music at around $400 with B-Band electronics.

Getting an ALL SOLID WOOD acoustic really makes a huge difference to the tone. Laminated acoustics just sound boxy to me.

Eh, the Custom Acoustics kinda... suck imho.

And I don't think they're solid tops too, you can see the line dividing the two woods.

Depending on his budget, he might not be able to afford a full-solid, but a solid-top is usually an improvement. Dave Weiner has an all laminate (I think) acoustic and it just sounds boxy to me. Not that laminates are bad, I have a very nice-sounding and projective all-laminate but usually laminates tend to sound boxy.

So if you have a generous budget, perhaps get at least a solid-top, though an all-solid would be a bonus tone-wise though you might have to take better care of it as solid wood warps more easily in high humidity conditions than laminate wood.

My most recent visit to City Music.. The lower-end Custom Acoustics reminded me of Ibanez V series. Wood has a very unusual bluish-green, almost plastic-y tint to it... Wouldn't recommend those. The more expensive ones look good, but if you can afford better, go for something better like Takamines, Maestros, Blueridges, Simon and Patrick, etc.

I think I have to clarify my recommendations here:

The FG27E and 52E are ALL SOLID SPRUCE/MAHOGANY acoustics, and retail in the region of $400. They are by no means low-end models. I tried all the Custom Acoustics on display, and agree with Eugene on the point that the lower-end models are lacklustre. However, the ALL SOLID models give mid-end guitars around the $1K a run for their money.

re_unknown: Did you even know what the specs of the 27E and 52E were before posting your comment?

I think SOFTies should really know their products before proffering any suggestions/recommendations.
