after Van Halen III, i was ready to give up on the Gary Cherone on vocals line-up because they were so plain boring... however, never dismis the dutch mestro just yet, especially when guitar playing is concerned.

Best of Both Worlds refer to the 2 main era of Van Halen Music, the David Lee Roth fornted & the Sammy Hagar fronted. most probably if you are a fan, you've heard all the music already so why cough up any more $$$ to get a Best of compilation? it's the 3 new tracks that blew me away. VH's revered technicalities are present but listen to that ultra thick, heavy tone. it's something new for the man, one which would easily make any metal band weep because it's simply in-your-face. we hope that with the 3 fresh tunes here, it's a good sign of things to come from the band. highly recommended listening. 8)

ah yes, bought this one too sometime back, and it truly rocked my little world and expanded my little guitar vocab by leaps and bounds. heh.
btw, go buy it at gramaphone ok? i almost bought it at Tower - where it was going for a hefty $30 plus. then tried HMV, going for $58. why??????????
finally went to gramaphone...$18.95. yay.

keke.

Van Halen

wow! the king is here Eddie Van Halen !!!

remember converted to a fan after listening to 5150 album !
Why can't this be love - Love Walks In - Dreams ... ...

The next few albums with Sammy Hagar is good
Feels so good - Right Now - When it's love ... ...
Why can't this be love ... ...

too bad Mr. Hagar disappeared for a while
with Extreme vocals it was all crap !?

Hopefully they'll return with another strong album

maybe no vol.2

I dun there'll be a 'vol.2' since Van Halen released the Best of Both Worlds.

If you'd followed Van Halen news about how
Sammy Hagar left and David Lee Roth came
back for the 2 tracks in 'Vol.1'; the Best of Both Worlds
were the initial idea of a greatest hits package, one side
of LeeRoth hits and the other side with Hagar hits. Mr. Hagar
felt uncomfortable with it and kind of blew it up and left VH.
That's how LeeRoth came back but too bad it was short lived.
Then came the Extreme vocalist Gary Cherone but short lived
as well.

For my preference, I prefer the mature Van Halen with Sammy Hagar.
There were of course the classic hit albums with David Lee Roth especially
JUMP, I'll Wait, Panama ... ... Hagar's vocals still tops to me.
