using a violin bow!

hey there

most of u have probably heard the technique of using a violin bow to play the guitar. made famous by jimmy page =)
but how many of u singaporeans have actually used this technique? or implemented it in most of ur songs?

if u have, tell us more about ur experiences!

I tried. You can really only play on the first string and 6th string. The sound doesn't seem to be very good. Many times the tone that is produced is not whole and very airy sounding and the string gets coated with sticky rosin from the bow!

Firstly I dont think its Jimmy Page who made it famous. Correct me if im wrong. Yes I have used it b4 but not on staged. If no bow around I try to imitate it using volume swells with a touch of vibrato.
