USB interfaces help!!

im interested in recording but down with some tight budget..

i never recommend second hand.. but u can go ahead and try.. post at the buy/sell sound gear section..

i recommend u go to sinemax at parklane.. ask the uncle for the toy called "jam lab"..
think its like $60 - $80 dollars.. the uncle very nice one..

the jamlab is a basic portable interface for guitar or mic. USB base.
only has 1 interface though.. just like UX1..
it has 1/8" output for your earphones..
its not as professional as the UX1 of course..cuz its like.. 1/3 of the price.. but its enough for u to do basic recording..

UX1 is around $180 from city music.

or perhaps u can try the line6 toneport GX.. the younger brother of UX1.. which is around $100.. its also very portable.. the size of a pager..

keyboard ah.. i never recorded keyboards before.. but it is possible as long as your keyboard has a 1/4" jack output.. or like a headphones output or whatsoever.. this one maybe blueprintstudio can help u out!

purgatory, could you list out exactly what kind of recording you want to do? What is your current setup in terms of computer and music instrument?

actuall i got nothing now except my guitars and amps and a sony laptop...trying to get a software 1st and then a usb interface which can record both guitars and keyboard...anyway...which software should i get?..where to get them...my budget for software is $50..

if i use a mixer with 2/4 channels, then which usb interface should i use?

you dont need the extra mixer. Those Line6 Toneport interface are really affordable and usable.

Purgatory: If you are planning on just recording your keyboards and guitar, then I would support the recommendation made by the others about the Toneport UX 1. I own a Toneport, and like what James said, you don't need an extra mixer, unless you are planning on multi channel recording ie recording different instruments all at once.

In fact, with the Toneport, you don't really need an amp. I personally find the Gearbox amp models pretty sufficient (of course, there are plenty who would beg to differ).

purgatory : you always see auctions online selling stuff always says "BID WITH CONFIDENCE" , you can't keep "hoping" , only you can determine the real worth of the product you're buying by how you feel about it. it's best you go down citymusic and try it out personally.

and like what james(soft) said, you don't need the extra mixer cos you're recording, and you'll have a "SOFTWARE MIXER" inside your PC. you'll be making a wasted purchase.

kindly read my DIY Recording FAQ. you have to understand what I typed there , cos if you don't, i don't think i can make it any simpler because I made it as layman as I could.
