i have da ibanez ts-9
but its not powerful at all
even if i set da drive all da way up 2 max
its still not powerful
or issit tt da pedal is no gd?
can ne 1 help me?

did you not know what you were buying? If you have not tried this pedal before and buy it blindly, i acherly can't help much since there's no premise to start with either

As what the name of the pedal implies, it was originally used for pushing tube amps into overdrive or stacking on top for a screaming lead tone...hence the monikor.

Can be used stacking into other dirt pedals for the same effect, needs abit of tweaking. TS9 into solid state clean = urghhh

the tubescreamer is a weak overdrive, it's meant to produce a weak drive.

i'm using mine with my DA5 as well but it's not a primary source of overdrive- it's a booster.

the ts9 gives you a mid-hump, you should def be able to notice that at the least.

try putting ur ts9 before another OD pedal, switch on the OD pedal, strum strum, then kick in the ts9, and hear the diff. If you still can't hear the diff...think you need to check your ears out a lil pal. =) I tend to use the ts9 as a booster for the mids, with some grit. Adds meat to chords, cuts through the mix better.

I do recall not being all that satisfied with the stock ts9, but I got it modded and I really like what it does for me now. Experiment, and you'll find out.

Sometimes you need to try it out yourself before you really know what you're getting, so it's ok that you bought it before finding out totally what the ts9 was about. Reading on paper can only take you a certain distance. If you couldn't try it out some place, and thus decided to buy it and try, by all means. Especially if you got it cheap, or you just have the spare cash. Don't let that worry you too much. It's a good thing to read up first so that you don't get a rude shock though. People are around to help as well, so do ask around next time before you make a purchase.

Cheers!

I'm sure it's fine, but after using a TS-9 into a proper tube amp....that's where it feels reaalllly good to me :) Night and day difference in tone and gain wise

this is the usual typical situation where someone buys a pedal on hype but has no idea what hes getting into.

then what's ur primary source of overdrive?

i have the jnh and i love the ts channel. it's good for blues lead. i love the thick mashy sound when played with chords. some dont like, but i do. hehe.

well...... i had the same concern when i 1st got my digitech badmonkey, then it took me a while to realise what overdrive pedals are meant for..
Try using the tubescreamer with the blues 2 drive settings, with gain at less than 50%

Remy obviously you did not do research enough to what a tube screamer is. Its a great pedal by itself for light to medium smooth od and to boost another gain pedal or push it.

Some pedals need to played loud to hear how good it can really be. I feel the tubescreamer is one of it. When with a band, having the tubescreamer out loud, its a tool for alot of gain purporses and really vuts through due to the nature of it. (depending on how you use it)
