Im getting a bit sick of my boss ODB3... but anyway

Ibanez TS9
Catalinbread (cant rem model sorry.. friend's :p)

Boss Sd-1 , the next best thing to a Digitech Bad Monkey.

Then again, you could go mad and burn your wallet on a Radial Tonebone classic :)

I got a TS9DX thats been Randolfed.

Its really warm and natural sounding, plus it is tremendously responsive! :) Need some demo-ing? ;)

talking about the ts9dx, paul gilbert used it for his 2 clinics in singapore as boost for his solo. but then he was using it with laney amps. but during his gig in suntec, he uses a ds-1! dunno if its modified. i know it is not a keeley coz i was on stage before the gig and place it on the stage for him!

and talking abt him, both his flying v's, he got it from e-bay. and they have got original p/us and all! it shows that the tone is always in the hands of the beholder! just my 2cents worth!

hahahahahaha! why the o.m.g.? i try to remeber what he uses. i saw an ADA flanger, mxr90, dd3, and the ds1, not in that order. i don't think there is anything else. and he dime in a nice overdrive sound from his amp and leave it as that. he controls his clean/distortion with his guitar volume. i remebered he uses 2 amps, a marshall and a laney head, dunno which is the slave, and laney cabs.

one thing he changed which surprised me. his guitar pick. he used to play with white 1.5mm dunlops, as think as yngwie's. but he switched to yellow tortex now. it 0.7mm. shredder uses thick picks usually! and i still remember paul mentioned its easier to play faster with thick picks during his 2nd clinic trip here. but then, he changed i guess...

hope that is helpful...

You use a bass overdrive on guitar ?

nope. On bass ;) Just because I play bass doesn't mean I can't use TS9s :P

not sound crew, just general helper! hahahahha! i was there to help with the stage equiptment, ie drums, bass and guitar amps. but paul and band got their own crew. so, we just hang around and do itsybitsy stuff. like getting the guitars and basses out from the cases and putting them on the stand, placing the efx pedals in the correct position, plugging the cables etc. so i got to see what he uses.

i know i took pics of his guitars and efx, but haven't got to developing them yet. (yes, i'm that old skool, no digital cam for me!) if i do i'll post them here.

it's funny that these super-rich musicians stick to boss, mxr and other common brands.
Perhaps those boutique stuff are really over-hyped.

yep kinda... like what randolf says the main prob with "current" pedals is that they are tweaked to be modernized.

hehe... shhh... u've let the cat out of the bag on the B** M***** pedal... :)

like certain resistor values, caps, changed... if you would notice, there's much more emphasis on bass frequencies these days, with 7 string guitars, nu-metal etc on the scene... so boss and other manufacturers do change some of the component values to suit the current taste of players.

Unfortunately, not to all players, especially those that appreciate the older sounds.
