tube amps for hdb

I agree with dodgethis on the Marshall jvm being a nice home amp. Straightforward as it gets. I tried one at a friend's place and I really like it. If there were one on the used Market I would pounce on it. I recommend it any day.

ok..
really thanks guys for your awesome suggestions...
ive got lots to learn...

i think ill will be better for me to the the Marshall MA50c with footswitch
as that will serve me less trouble for finding distortion pedals...

can i believe that,
good tone = cheap guitar + good amp + fingers and feeling?

got lots of gasing for guitar...
tokai als48, schecter omen 6, swing r2.

damn!

im hell gonna save up!
but just trying to know what im saving up for...
help on that?

Uh, I'm not sure what you're trying to get at, but just keep your guitar and save for the amp. Some squiers are pretty good, just that people are stuck with the stereo typical thinking that squier=bad. Gotta keep that brand conscious thinking out of your head.

No. Good tone = good everything.. No other way around it, your rig is only as good as the weakest link whether its your playing, cables, amp, guitar, power supply or pedals.

Fingers ftw.
Anyway off topic, I had really bad experience with china squiers, they just break apart, poor circuitry, loose jack every few weeks despite fixing and left untouched, strap button ate off all the wood.
But other than that, playability is fine.

mine got loose jack eh...

Easily replaceable. Many guitars experience that at some point of time. I think you shouldn't get too lost in this world of tone, focus on technique first. Look at many of the great players out there, they started with shitty gear and focused on their playing, not the other way round.

Your point? Is that supposed to demonstrate your 'technical abilities'? Nothing wrong with your tone what.just that you gotta know when to use bridge/neck pup

Have you ever played a Classic Vibe? I believe it'll make you look at the prices of MIM Fenders and laugh.

I know man, i'm talking about the others eg. bullet, not the classic vibes =D, they're awesome.
don't get me wrong lol.
Maybe stating china was a bad example @@, mybad.

go with any amp that has power scaling. id go more for the direction of a tophat emplexador or something along those lines. soultone amps also come with power scaling. suhr badger?

ive tried maxing out a few amps in the hdb i lived in. one was a vox ac15, motherfuka was damned loud when juiced enough to clip without any pedals in front. but i had to play it 2 rooms away. feedback was instant if i was sitting in the next room. plus i was wearing earplugs + headphones just to save my hearing. was damn awesome though, the sound was physically tangible.

another ive tried was cranking up a ceriatone overdrive special 60watter. didnt crank full but went half way. was loud enough to roll my wood pencil off the table. absolutely killer.

have also tried cranking up a fender deluxe reverb. another loud motherfuka which forced me to play in another room due to the levels. cleans sound esp nice when they are reaching the bloom, almost to the point of natural power tube drive. =)

last amp i tried cranking up was a mesa stiletto that belonged to username hayst. was pretty damned loud but still we didnt get the right saturation. but that was a 120watter, i wouldnt recommend having anything above 50-60 watts. you wouldnt need that much headroom for the cleans and i dont think we have big enough venues for the average guitarist to fully utilize such amps.

next up im gonna try cranking a JTM45 plus pushing it with a marshall guv'nor. i need to hear for myself what that would really sound like at bleeping high volumes. gary moore still got the blues right there.
