heh, no one can answer that without hearing your instrument sound quality with the pedals you have in your signal chain, when in
bypassed state and compared with just the instrument going straight to the amplifer, without pedals.
true bypass is not a mod that add any special majik to the pedal, its a mod that that lay a clean path for the instrument signal to travel thru
when the pedal is not activated(without letting your instrument signal going thru some circuit, before going to the output jack)
in short, its a mod for the pedal, when the effect is not processing your instrument sound.
so, if you get the rough idea, we can go on
not all pedals are true bypass, theres other form of bypass, buffer bypass and millenium bypass. All 3 are different in term of the way its being executed. Most common bypass in some mass produced pedals is buffer bypass(boss, dod, ibanez etc), most of indie/booteek maker employ true bypass(which is used as a selling point in conjunction with internet effect forums hype and glory, blah blah blah). As for millenium bypass, its another form of true bypass, but using a simpler switch and came about when a 3pdt switch wasnt that widely available, unlike now.
Anyway, all 3 have its own story behind, if wanna more, just google round
lastly and personally, true bypass is not a must, especially if not understanding the story behind it and just based on what was read/seen from internet effect forum. And if really just wanna get it, its cool as well, but just remember to find out more on what is, how, true bypass affect our signal.
anyway, for the cost and who can do it, perhaps just wait a round, there be recommendations coming in
