Matt Heafy is becoming the James Hetfield of the 20th century.
And Trivium is the new metallica.

Their new album showcases their excellent musicianship, unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the songs and the new direction they are taking.

Wooh Wooh Yeah Yeah in the lyrics? Wtf? Compared to Ascendency, this album sure sucks. And the similarity between Matt and James is freaky to say the least.

Metallica went down the drain during the early 90s. Let's hope Trivium do not go down the drain in the early 00'

It's giving me the shits becuase noone can replace metallica and this clone rubbish happening, I'm not seeing it. All I see is a generic crappy metalcore band.

I've tried amny times to udnerstand what the fuss is and I dont see it.

whatever this argument is abt.i dun see it going anywhere.whether or not they are the new metallica or not.or whether matt sounds like hetfield. i have one thing to say and u guys go think abt it. yes matt may sound alil like hetfield but tht jus shows tht he has the influence of someone tht he may have worshipped since he was a kid. every guitar player will definately sound like another guitarist but not totally the same.for example. when i first heard andy timmons, i tot he was three guitarist in one, and tht would be satch, vai and johnson. it takes awhile to hear the originality tht tht artiste has.and soon u will differentiate. no one can top metallica tht is true cuz they are unique and diff from all the other bands. same goes for Trivium. no one can top them as they have their own sound. music is a form of expression, and each expression is totally diff from the other. u may have the influence of another person, but it will be totally diff in some other aspects. dun tell me not one of u guys dun have the influence of ur fav heroes? anyways, i am starting to get the kick of trivium, they produce nice music man. its the music pple! Love peace and hair grease, its jus my one cent worth of opinion.hope i din offend anyone!!~~ hhez...

A little bit like hetfield yes, not so much. Its like comparing Bruce dickinson with the hammerfall vocalist. The beatallica singer sounds more like het.

Might try to get the album or something and give it ago. I;m going to see them next year at Big day out so I'll try make the most of having them there.

Well said, but do remember, they are professionals.
Slight similarity is ok, but not carbon copy.
And did you guys even read the lyrics? It makes me cringe seriously hard.
