hihi softies! :)

been reading this forum as an unregistered user for many months now

recently im onto drums and been practising air drumming from online videos. now that im getting a little better at rudiments, im considering getting a drum set.

yes im quite budget :P jus a student here yeah.

i looked at yamaha dd65, been thinking of getting it but today i chanced upon a thread on trap drums!!

can anyone giv me some advice or comments on the trap drum A400? like the sound quality, sound level... can they be fitted with drum mutes? are trap drum skins unique to themselves? i mean, trap drums aint the normal kind of acoustic drum kits right....?

Thanks everyone :)

1) Trap drumkits are not unique to themselves. They come in standard drum sizes meaning you can replace their heads with heads found at drumshops.

2) Sound-wise they're pretty decent with the proper tuning. The Trap kit loudness is comparable to a standard drumkit noise.

3) Anyway trap drums are not exactly cheap tho. If u really are on a tight budget, i suggest buying a second hand drumset or if you are looking for a new kit maybe something from Carlos.

hmm yeah, im still in the midst of exploring my options!

thanks for ur reply :)

im now looking into pearl rhythm traveler :) my problem is both budget and space constraints :( so i guess tama stagestar and carlos is both out, haha.

heyhey really thanks for ur comments :)

Np. Anyway I'm using the pearl rt got it from fellow softie for abt $450.it's very compact. I think maybe a bit more compact than the trap kit

Yup the RT is really a good choice. Keep a lookout at the buy/sell section u might chance upon one. I suggest a simple hi hat and an 18" crash/ride will do if you really have space constraint.
