Tom Delonge...

hey no man..that's not true..tom de longe is good. :) tho he sure doesn't seem to be technically very sound..but he sure makes some pretty catchy punk tunes..making me a closet blink lover..as much as they've disbanded..hahaha:)

Perhaps one shouldn't look at the artiste affliation but look at the specs of what you are getting for the $$$ you have to fork out.

Surely there are more cost effective ways of spending your hard earned cash.

buy the cheapest but playable quality strat type of guitar that you can find.

I recommend Squires.

Remove the pickguard and get a replacement bridge humbucker guard. You can ask Gr3y here to make you one.

Buy yourself a DUNCAN INVADER bridge pickup. It should be available at Davis but then if not then maybe you can pre order.

Get Beez guitar 77 to install it.

Then play blink182 songs like a pro.

If you're on budget, GFS pickups available online only have those Invader type pickups. Scarey pickups man... chuggga chuggggaaaa....

Fender is not selling his sig strat any more and havent seen his sig es here in singapore too.
You could just go edder's way though

tanx for the help though i guess i'll go buy the pickup n another guitar...i already gt a normal strat...i wana change to a crunchier strat....or mayb a es333...ppl sae its sux with clean tone, issit true?

hi my name is jon and i think you need to learn this whole aspect of tone.

Dude, go easy, man..

Arthur:+1 to what Shred and edder said.. There are better guitars to spend your money on that'll last you longer and are easier on the wallet.. Besides, won't any Strat with the right humbucker in the bridge get you where you want to go, at least in terms of sound? Plus it'll be a lot more versatile.. Give it a think, ok? :D

i mean i wan 2 try a diff tone...n nt stickin to a single coil...i lyk blink 2 n i guess i would wan dat...

Yeah, exactly.. Like I said, you can get a Strat with a humbucker in the bridge.. That way, you'll get your bridge humbucker sound, plus the neck and middle single coils IF you want.. Plus it'll be cheaper than the de Longe signature.. A lot cheaper.. :D

Hope that helps..

haha..den wad brand of humbucker would u recomend?i gt a 60th anniversery strat n i dun wana mod it cos itll lose its value....

Thats the great thing about Strats. Just change out a pickguard. Put in the new bucker. Want to sell? Put back.

Btw... 60th Aniversary MIM? is not going to have major resale value in future.

Go with what edder said on that one..

As for your strat, well, I have a personal view that there's no point in having a guitar that has resale value if you're not happy playing it.. I've turned quite a few of my 'resale valuable' guitars into playable guitars that way.. I feel their more useful to me that way..

Again, personal opinion.. Quite a few people will disagree with me on this..

ther's this squier bullet strat tt comes with a single humbucker..available at swee lee..made of 'laminated hardwood' tho..

I doubt it'll be worrisome when arthur throws a ton of distortion onto it. :)

heh prolly all talk abt tone and what not when u throw a ton of gain in to it. it doesnt really matter.
