... especially to the band & Agingyouth for such the excellent show, but also to all fans & SOFTies who were there to share in the experience.
Its been 1 day since the gig & I'm still buzzing, here's why.
"Tomorrow is Our Permanent Address" is an incredible piece of work and offers a glimpse of local independent music being possibly something more; thinking a little more, expressing a little more, feeling a little more. I believe that at this point there is a portion of the scene that is ready for something more engaging.. and B-Quartet just woke us up. I am excited about the future, coz 3-5 years down the road, I believe other songwriters will churn out their own beautiful work that was directly or indirectly inspired by TIOPA.
B-Quartet is a rare combi of a band. Haykal never gave up using music as a vehicle to map out surreal mental odysseys, while the band maintains a heart-stopping climax-intense sound through out. B-Quartet is amazing in not how seasoned they are as musicians, but in how they're breaking new grounds in beautiful intellectual lyric-writing and aural expression. I haven't heard something so different and fresh coming out of Singapore in a long time, and I probably don't need to tell you that I am F#$King excited.
The best part about this is I'm not the only to have said these things.. I've spoken to so many other people who are excited/happy/raving/horny about B-Quartet/TIOPA. We need more of that sort of passionate intensity for the scene to get even better.
