Threats Received Through PM

I've received some personal threats through PM saying something like,

you talk very big ah boy, watch out.
i know who you are, benjamin.
just fking watch out.

After advising him to stop stalking me on friendster, I was called a motherlover and,

haha, you're so gonna get it.
trust me you will, you definitely will.

What should we do if we receive online threats? I won't disclose that guy's name to protect his identity.

Most of these people are just out to waste your time and scare you.

Police report, if I'm not wrong, making such threats is a crime, a night in the lockup will teach him a lesson, after that, you may press charges for causing emotional distress and make some money off him.

yes indeed. such threats, if you believe yourself to be in real danger, can amount to assault (the legal understanding of assault need not neccessitate a physical contact) which is penal. if you have details on the person issuing this threat, you can make a police report however if found accountable for/ false, be prepared to be grilled yourself.

i would imagine you don't really have to worry. most of the time they only talk, no action.

Just make the police report. better safe than sorry, because it's online, there's pretty clear evidence. Oh, and because the cops will have his details, you can sue still his ass off for causing emotional distress.

I took it that henryvelge wanted me to confront him verbally / physically outside which I won't do.


henryvelge went on to threaten me by using my real name and when I told him not to stalk me through friendster (which was a guess cause I saw a random guy by the name of velge henry louis checking out my profile) he admitted to it,

I wasn't the one who sent the personal threats and I tried to laugh these threats off because the way you were doing it was funny but I really meant it when I said I'm scared because the threats seem real. I suppose they are, aren't they?
