there's really no musical quality left in that shred man... Though it may be technically good... its sounded like those 80's computer game background music. electronic buzzer music..
 
Actually there is. Not that particular video though. His actual songs have got melody, but it's an acquired taste.

i don't know, but i feel the focus on playing skills is history, and to wow pple now with lighting hands caressing stylish looking guitars is so 80's.

you're lucky if they don't yawn during your strat.

hmm.....lets keep a sense of perspective:
that clip was made just to showcase his technical prowess, with no attempt at melody.
I'm sure he has 'proper' songs whereby he marries his technique with his compositional skills.

Yup, he's got quite a bit of those "display technical ability" videos on his site. Plus, the man works with Vitalij Kuprij, the renowned neo-classical keyboardist, so there definitely is some melody in his compositions. Worth checking out, but like i mentioned earlier, stuff like this are acquired tastes. If you don't like him, you'd probably not like Rusty Cooley.

One thing: Both Francesco and Rusty have lousy tone.
 
well.. i believe the technicality is like a flashy tool tht u can use to gain pple's attention.. but its also a tool to help u in ur musical composition.. jus how u choose to use it.. look at vai.. i believe he is capable to shred as fast as he wans... but he chose to fuse it in a musical way to express himself.. dun u guys think so?? jus my opinion.. and dhalif.. no la.. dun think everyone has something against playing fast.. haha.. its a good way to relax too... when playing fast.. hehe..
