Lions to play Indonesia on Wednesday (taken from FAS website)

After a winning performance at the Ho Chi Minh City International Tournament in Vietnam last week, Singapore will be looking to continue their good form when they play Indonesia on Wednesday 04 November 2009 at the National Stadium.

With this match being the Lions’ final preparation before the all-important Asian Cup Qualification match against Thailand on 14 November, it is no surprise that National team coach Raddy will be scrutinising this game for the final tune-up.

“The Lions had a successful campaign in the HCMC International Tournament last week, but we did not have the benefit of a full national team as some of the players were still playing in the Indonesian League. This friendly match against Indonesia is very important as it give the players the opportunity to play together, and also allow us to experiment with tactical variations. From there, I will then be able to select the best possible team for the Thailand game.”

Tickets will be on sale at the National Stadium (East and West entrances) on matchday from 6.00pm onwards.

Prices
Grandstand - $10.00

enjoy your self bro & will try for the 14 nov match

FT: S'pore 3 Indo 1 S'pore scorers: Duric (2), NAS (1)

There was a 1 min silence in memory of the late Mr Sivalingam and the players wore black armbands.

Great game, with both teams playing well and showing great skills but S'pore took their chances well with the set pieces that led to the goals. I could see that S'pore's passing have improved and no more of that long ball thingy that was highly ineffective against previous opponents. Even when it was raining heavily during the 2nd half, that did not dampen their spirits while playing in the 2nd half.

The crowd today was kinda dead (as usual) and I hate to say this but the Indo fans, being a smaller group, actually had the loudest cheer..hahaha :P

This win will indeed boost the morale of the Lions when they take on Thailand at Kallang Stadium next Sat in the Asian Cup Qualifiers qualifying round match. I strongly urge each and everyone here to come support the Lions next Sat, as they bid to reach the Asian Cup for the first time. There's no BPL games played next weekend so there's no excuse for u not to be there..:P

Go Lions Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The S'pore Vs Thai match is gonna be an intense match, with each team going all out to win. The last time we met them was about 2 years ago, during the ASEAN Cup, does anyone remember when we were awarded a penalty, the Thai players staged a walkout in protest? I remember play was delayed for about 10mins or less...

I will.. I will.. IF it does not clash with any United matches on that Saturday.. I don't know, I haven't seen the fixtures yet.

But if nothing, then I will go! 8)
