The Singapore Football Scene Thread

ok ... lets take the non sg issues outta this thread back to the conflict threads please bro - lets not mess up faizals sg footythread .

Ai ya, all this talk about to be expected of Man U fans la, to be expected of this & that & Uncle Sammie's grandma la.

WEI. At least with Man Utd, most if not all of our high expectations become a reality.

But ah, we all know how the sad, sad story goes where a liverpoot is concerned.

Yea, man. I shall take this elsewhere coz Faizal's my bro, man.

FGL D - Don't think i wanna la. It'll e hot & crowded & plus, I won't really be there to support team SG 100% la.

I strongly encourage u guys to turn up for tmr's match against China and the Lions need our full support. I heard rumours that China fans bought a lot of grandstand tickets and they sure are trying everything to be heard in the National Stadium.

faizal - I see u at 7pm outside kallang MRT

I willbe wearing Arsenal Jesey (JVC - Adams)

see ya soon bro :D

Hey guys! So how did the match go last night? What was the final score?

Were the China fans outnumbering the S'pore fans?

sg score in the 7th min - power header by nor alam shah

they they went into their shell

china played really well - good movement off the ball, supporting runs, hard & fast in defence ...

if not for Hassan Sani (man of the match in my opinion) - sgwud have lost at least 4-1 ... some really top draw saves...

Penalties ... and SG did a man u & fluffed it ..

china fans were at grandstand as well as the gallery so when they cheered it was like echo / stereo - and yes they outcheered sg fans

towards the end we in the sg side and the nearby china supporters exchange "greetings" but nothing serious ...

at the end of the match near where we were sitting - there was some SG hooligans almost caused a fight with own sg fans - stoopid & disgraceful...

cops came in & broke it up - later faizal told me at the mrt station also got sg hooligans tried to start trouble bythrowingthings at china fans ..

all in all an ok expirience

Were U both at the grandstand area?

Oh no. All these football hooligans. Aiya, it's just a game afterall. See lah. Until the cops had to intervene.

Tsk tsk.

So SG lost la in the end on penalties? Sad lah.

We were at the gallery seats. It was kinda pathetic to see only 10K S'pore fans turning up for the match whereas the China fans were at the gallery and grandstand seats. Like Fgl mentioned, it was kinda stereo surround sounding. I dare say unfortunately, the China fans were more vocal than us.

Noh Alam Shah scored with a powerful header and then we didn't capitalize which led to China scoring with another header at the other end. The Spore team played long balls which 99% of the time lost possession. 1st half was kinda draggy. 2nd half was an even better performance by the Lions when Itimi Dickson came on, he was no doubt the hardworking man around the field and my man of the match would surely go to our keeper Hassan Sunny, who made 4 crucial great saves. We could have lost 4-1 if it wasn't for him. I can see why Raddy is preferring Hassan Sunny over Lionel Lewis.

So the match ended 1-1 and penalty shootout began. Even though we lost, I was satisfied with the full time result but really, the Lions have got to stop doing the long ball thingy, it really isn't effective and most of the time, the opponents gain possession. After the match, there were arguments between our own supporters while we were leaving the stadium. One of them shouted "Cisco!" and they came to stop the fight. But it didn't end there, one of our own fans threw something at one of the China fans at outside Kallang mrt but I didn't stay to watch the conclusion.

Here are the pics.
