YouTube - WCQ 2010: Singapore vs Uzbekistan : The Trailer / Preview

I`ll be there from work and with a friend too..reaching there at approx 615pm maybe?

U guys can still buy the tickets the National Stadium on that day itself.

So, if anyone`s joining me, reply here...: ) so tat I can roughly see the number of keen supporters.

How about this for a dream score on June 2?

Singapore 1 Uzbekistan 0 :)

I`ll be damn happy if we win, doesn't matter how many goals we score. A win for us will get us 3 points in the table. The Kallang Roar has to inspire the Lions to dreamland.

But honestly,at the moment, we lack the aggressiveness of a striker like NAS. What do u guys think?

Build-up to World Cup Qualifier: Singapore vs Uzbekistan

SINGAPORE's coach Radojko Avramovic says he does not care who his team plays in their World Cup qualifiers and is interested in results, not reputations.

The tough-talking Serb had nothing to say when asked about runaway Group 4 leaders Uzbekistan, only that the Lions had fast improved and would only accept victory at home on Monday.

'When you get to this level, all the teams are good but it's just about points now,' Avramovic said.

'We're only going for the points, regardless of who we play. The players are confident they can prove themselves.'

Southeast Asian champions Singapore, whose team includes naturalised Bosnians, Britons and Nigerians, are second in the table with three points.

Abramovic added: 'We will go all out. We're not the same team we used to be, we are now more experienced at this level.'

Dynamo Kiev's Maksim Shatskikh is expected to lead the charge for the Uzbeks and will be their most likely source of goals after scoring six in his last three qualifiers, including five in a single match against Taiwan.

Neither side has appeared at a World Cup finals, although Uzbekistan came close last time.

Their 2006 qualifying campaign ended in acrimony when Fifa ordered a replay of their game with Bahrain because of a refereeing error.

Their subsequent defeat denied the central Asian side a chance to playoff for a berth in the 2006 finals in Germany. -- REUTERS

the last time i didnt sit with the crowd.i sat on the side.kinda peaceful really.but i dont know about this time tho.hope i can get seats before they run out.

oh man, we got whooped 3-7.

the first 30min was very exciting though, when the score was at 2-2.

singapore's forward should have scored that 1v1 at the start of the game, that would defintely change the game.

very entertaining game nonetheless, good showcase of asian football (and bad showcase of singapore's leaky defence) uzbekistan were the deserved winners, some of their moves were even world class or EPL worthy.

if you guys played unreal tournament: HUMILATING DEFEAT! YOU HAVE LOST THE MATCH.

Singapore 3 Uzbekistan 7

Hey all, just got back. I guess the main talking point here is our defence. We lack concentration in that department. Nonetheless, our midfield was stable..Wilko was outstanding and my man-of-the-match for the night. Just imagine, we could have prevented 2 or 3 goals. Raddy, pls do something about the defence.

I can say that the Uzbeks are much speedier than us and why are they falling to the ground too easily? Hmm. But credit to our Lions, we never expect to score 3 against a top Asian side, something that Saudi Arabia couldn't do against the Uzbeks in the earlier game hahaha :)

Next game is against the Uzbeks again this week, but this time in their home territory. If we can get a draw there, I`ll be satisfied :)

Oh and what a huge turnout today.

i dunno if the fans were let down by the team's unbecoming defence because the scoreline did look promising in the game's earlier stages. TV showed people leaving early...

defence is lacking somebody in the mould of Subramani,Aide or the late Borhan-no nonsense defenders who will do safety 1st and fancy moves/short pass/square pass 2nd.

defence=intimidation ala Jang Jung or Alan Davidson..nowdays a lot of Rio wannabe..
