The simpsons

i gotta say i caught it on opening day and
i expected more.
it was like watching an hr and a ½ long episode
of the simpsons...
it was funny. but it wasn't special...
3 stars out of 5.

i had a higher expectations...but well it still was packed with alot of humour..

and seriously i enjoyed it....the ONLY thing that annoyed me was...

some singaporeans cant understand a funny scene when they see one...

cant remember wad scene it was..myself and a few other fellas in the front seats were luffin...den there was this teenager..sed..
or rather whispered la..

"noob la..not funny part also luff.."

puzzles me sumtyms these singaporeans..i tink they need those signs...

like..

"LAUGH" and "SILENCE" 8O

if the audience dsnt understand the humor, the show
writers and producers didn't do their job right.
just so happens the writers didn't fashion the jokes to
cater to Singapore.
can't blame the crowd.

that's the tv/movie business.

I beg to differ, the level of the sense of humour here is quite depressing la.(paradox)

Look at our local sitcoms that have us singaporeans laughing over the slapstick farce.Thats what Singaporeans want.

yeah singaporeans have a different 'taste' of humor.

there was this hot girl behind me who was laughing throughout the show.

our local sitcoms...i hardly watch them..they are hardly funny at all..

glentiaw: similar to snuff..i too, beg to differ..if it wasnt funny..why wud the other few audience luff too?

when it comes to humour..you either get it or you juz simply dont..but why comment on others when they get the joke and you dont?

poor souls.

f**k man i couldn't stop laughing to the 2 gay cops.

but just too bad i was the only one laughing at that scene. i guess singaporeans need pck-like humour to crack them up

i never said it's not funny. i said the writers didn't write to cater to
singapore. it's not that it's not funny. it obviously is.

but singaporeans have a different kind of humour. and that's true.
i think the local viewership of under one roof compared to seinfeld
speaks for itself.

if you're working in the broadcasting business, you can't blame the
viewers for not watching your production. it's pretty much your fault.

and fyi, i'm a really big simpsons fan if you think otherwise. i used
to collect their trading cards and all. still have em though the scratch
n sniff ones don't work anymore...

i never said it's not funny. i said the writers didn't write to cater to
singapore
. it's not that it's not funny. it obviously is.

wad makes us so special that they have to cater to our sense of humour??

if they did..im very sure it wudnt be as funny..ah well..we cant blame the script writer or wad not when it comes to things like this..majority found it funny and i tink its a job well done.

glentiaw is right...

i laughed through some stuff and no one else did... because they dont understand american humour or american politics

Saw it yesterday...I left the theatre with my jaws actually aching

Yeah, it wasn't as good as the TV series, but so what ? Less-than-average Simpsons is still better than 99.5% of the tripe on TV and the silver screen today.

Btw, did anyone catch the Eva Peron spoof episode ?

Eva (to the crowds) : Don't cry for me Argentinaaaaaaa...

Homer : Wait ! Wait ! I got a song too ! I AM IRON MAN ! Duh nuh nuh nuh nu-nu nuh vote for me !

Absolute Genius :)
