The Manager: How important is that role?

In your opinion, how important is the role of a band manager? At what stage of the band's development should a manager be brought in?

if you cant afford a manager in the first place then forget about it. unless you're a friend of someone who knows these stuff and is willing to help.

bands should start off on their own, marketing themselves and picking up valuable experience on the way.

so when you get big enough as a band, you may want to hire a manager to take care of gigs and evrything because most ppl have lives outside their music. if you get a really experienced manager it could make the difference between a highly successful band and an average band doing gigs in the underground circuit.

yea.wait till ur big la.or unless u keep gigging and stuff.Managers only belong to those bands who have made it.and have never ending shows with deals here and there.planning which will totally turn off the band.goes to the MANager.

i think gettin a manager can cause the band to split..Unless u're really gettin a good one..and u need cash to have one..Fer me..the best manager is always the band members..Anibody will do!!..

it's a lot of hard work that i'd rather do without, to be honest. but yeah finding a good manager is difficult and i suppose i'll have to continue doing it until we can afford to hire someone we like.
