THE les paul.

bassist_k,

to me one of THE place to check out for LPs is:

www.orangeguitar.com

you will find almost all the brands of LP (and those that are rare too). both low and high end. his prices are reasonable. you should check his guitars out at his place before committing:

Gibson
Orville
Orville by Gibson
Epiphone (MIJ)
Edwards (He can bring in, some models are cheaper than Davies)
Burny (both MIJ and MIK)
Greco

to top it all, great guy to chat with. no fuss, no pressure to buy, execellent service!

I'd advise you to not leave Heritage les pauls out of ur consideration. They're among the best there are, closest to orig. gibson specs, even closer than some of the current gibson models. They're individually handmade, with a plek machine for consistent fretwork being the only exception.

thanks turtlemuscle. i was at the site a few weeks ago and looking at the brand new burny lps. ah, but still cant decide.

is $1100 for a epi lp custom w/ hardcase worth the money?

you can ask Davis if they can bring in the particular Edwards you wish to acquire (provided it's not a special/ custom order). they did that for me.

saw a ultra n custom + at sweelee 2day
u could have gotten either 1 n at half price
but 2bad sales over

apparently epiphones have been making LP's in indonesia since last yr.
someone saw a indonesian LP honey burst in guitar center last month.
serial number starts with SI, indicating samick indonesia.

Yeap I second that. Indo Epi have been spotted before. But haven seen any here though. Man they're really trying to cut cost by moving it to cheaper countries.. just hope quality doesnt deteriorate
