THE FOOTBALL THREAD Vol 2

As far as I can see, . I'm sure some Man Utd fans would argue that Evra deserves a spot, but I think Clichy's consistency just edges it.
Incidentally, Cristiano Ronaldo voted for Emmanuel Adebayor, showing just how much respect he has for the Togolese striker for your info

Anyway, the best player in the PL is a one man showboat for united;)

Hiya, why still debate abt who is better, even u debate, still that wont change the player chosen for the PFA team of the year......so if some certain player is better from ur opinion den the player being voted, why is he NOT chosen???? and by the end of the day, win or lose, we only get joy and happy for our club/player we supporting for.......and we don get anything more den tat, we don get paid if they win instead we lose money every month paying cable rental just to watch them play....so let just be happy and congrats to the winner for the PFA, they must be doing something right to get the vote

Why? Cause we want our opinions to be heard, even if we can't change anything, but just poking your head into stuff like this makes you all warm and fuzzy inside

Yup true wylde, i agreed with u, but when u talk abt final decision tat already made, nothing will change, in other word, pointless....is like when the referee point the spot for penalty, no matter how many players argue or debate or if u bring the boardroom staff down to the pitch or the whole fan in the stadium, referee wont change his mind, sometime i wonder, why the heck they want to argue in the first place.......

I do support Arsenal bro, u never know how much they meant for me, or maybe im the person who accept the fact of this kind of situation....come on Hleb have been a great player this year, why Ashley Young name was on PFA team of the year, and funny non of u goonner supporter never mention him, cant debate also, debate also no use.....but sometime football politic is fun too...

Fergie: Scholes first name on Moscow team sheet

Sir Alex Ferguson expressed his delight for Paul Scholes at finally getting the chance to end his Champions League pain.

Scholes was suspended for the famous final win over Bayern Munich in 1999 and, like Roy Keane, it looked as though the midfield maestro would end his career without getting another shot at European club football's biggest prize.

But the 32-year-old lashed home the 14th-minute winner to give United victory over Barcelona at Old Trafford, putting them through on aggregate and ensuring an all-English final in Moscow on May 21.

'It is great for Paul to be in the final,' said Ferguson. 'It was a fantastic goal.

'I don't think you can expect him to score 10 or 15 goals a season like he used to.

'But when he gets one like that tonight it makes up for the ones he can't score. It is a marvellous moment for him.'

It was only Scholes' second goal of the campaign and his first in Europe for over 18 months but it means so much to a club Ferguson is convinced has not punched its weight in Europe for too long.

And the Scot is content that while his side endured a few nervy moments, ultimately they deserved to go through.

'We needed a fantastic performance tonight - and we got one.

'I knew it was going to be a long night but I felt we could have scored three or four in the first half.

'It was a bit nervy in the second because they had to have a go at 1-0 down. But we got through that spell and in the last 15 minutes, I didn't think they made any chances.

'It was emotional at the end but you expect that at a semi-final. The important thing is that we are there and we deserve to be there.'

Ferguson is hoping there will be an immediate pay-off in terms of United's performance against West Ham on Saturday.

Having seen their lead at the top of the Premier League whittled down to goal difference following the defeat at Chelsea, the Red Devils needed a lift and the Scot received the perfect assistance.

'It is a big boost for Saturday,' he said.

'It won't do us any harm that's for sure. The energy in the team was excellent. The question is how do we get that back into them.'

Ferguson will hope to have Nemanja Vidic and Wayne Rooney back, although both remain doubts.

However, for the moment his thoughts remain on Europe, or at least Stamford Bridge, where United's opponents - Chelsea or Liverpool - will be determined tomorrow night.

Ferguson will be in London to witness proceedings at first-hand.

And while he doesn't care who United get, he thinks supporters might have more of a chance of landing a ticket if they avoid Roman Abramovich's men.

'It would be a nice final against Liverpool but I really don't care,' he said.

'Maybe we will get more tickets against Liverpool because Roman Abramovich seems to have bought them all up.'

p/s : Im not happy abt this, but this is a football thread, maybe give man u fan happy abit, hahhahaha

well..it is an all english final in the end..

Riise to get chance at Stamford Bridge?

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has no new injury problems ahead of tomorrow's Champions League semi-final second leg at Chelsea but has yet to decide on his defensive line-up.

With Fabio Aurelio out with a groin problem Benitez could install John Arne Riise - who scored the critical own goal as a substitute in the first leg 1-1 draw - at left-back.

Benitez could also recall Sami Hyypia to centre-back, move Jamie Carragher to the right and switch Alvaro Arbeloa to the left while there could also be a place for Steve Finnan in either full-back spot.

And Benitez must also decide whether to include in-form Peter Crouch up front in preference to Ryan Babel.

Provisional squad: Reina, Carragher, Arbeloa, Hyypia, Skrtel, Riise, Finnan, Babel, Benayoun, Gerrard, Lucas, Alonso, Mascherano, Pennant, Crouch, Kuyt, Torres, Voronin, Itandje.

liverpool fans better pray hard that if riise does play,he better be defending right this time:)

Ronaldo claims bribery by transvestite hooker

Police are investigating claims by AC Milan striker Ronaldo that a transvestite prostitute sought to extort money from him following an altercation at a Rio de Janeiro motel.

Police inspector Carlos Augusto Nogueira said that Ronaldo, who is recuperating from a knee injury in his homeland, contracted the services of three transvestites - believing them to be women - and took them to a motel.

However, Ronaldo is then said to have tried to get out of the situation after one of the men went in search of drugs.

Two of them accepted pay-offs of 1,000 reais (US 600), but Ronaldo has claimed that the third, named as Andreia Albertini, demanded 50,000 reais (US 30,000) and threatened to post a video on the internet if he was not paid.

The police also said that the transvestites have claimed that Ronaldo threatened to hurt them.

Nogueira said that Ronaldo had not committed any crimes by contracting the men, but he is looking into other claims.

'He just wanted to have fun and meet some other people outside his usual environment,' Nogueira said. 'There is no crime at all.'

He added: 'He (Ronaldo) is quite shocked. He said he just wanted to have some fun and for the press not to be informed about this.

'Ronaldo told me he is suffering some psychological problems as a result of his injury.'

He should just go to thailand:)
