Cole wants City to nudge Gunners out of top four

Ashley-Cole-275.jpg

Ashley Cole has incensed Arsenal by saying he wants big spending Manchester City to knock his old club out of the top four.

The Chelsea defender thinks City's huge spending spree this summer means they can mount a serious challenge to make the Champions League next season.

Cole has been persona non grata at the Emirates ever since his controversial move across the capital to join Chelsea back in 2006.

He said he was made a "scapegoat" by Arsenal's board in his autobiography, and incensed fans further by saying he nearly crashed his car after baulking at a contract offer worth over £55,000 a week.

Think his next destination will be shitty.

whatever is wrong with ashley cole can only be explained by the fact that his character is questionable.

seriously. no sense of gratitude at all to a club which raised and trained him from a nobody schoolboy into an england international. I'm so glad we have clichy now

you mean he's got no right to be angry at his former club(&fans) for treating him the way he was treated?

at the same time he jolly well know that his actions back then is going to disgust the fans that supported him (therefore the jeering and name-calling treatment). i mean come on, talking to chelsea representatives behind closed doors in his hotel room about the transfers without his agent knowing and stuff surely to anger people who supported him in the team.

if i have to say, he actually put himself into this and is very bitter with how arsenal fans treated him to make him say such comments.

Hmmm...Ashley Cole wants Man Shitty to knock Arse out of the top 4?

As much as that sounds like music to my ears, Ashley Cole is living in dreamland la.

BILLIONS OF $$$$ DOES NOT GUARANTEE SILVERWARE.

Somebody pls tell that to my poor ignorant friend, Ash.

BILLIONS OF $$$$ DOES NOT GUARANTEE SILVERWARE.

I have to disagree ... just look at cheatsea.
Yea they need to tweak here and there but in no time, they won their 1st bpl in 50 years!!
$$$ can't buy you success overnight but it can certainly makes your job a lot easier.

STILL - i THINK LOVEHURTS SAYS ..DOES NOT GURANTEE ....

LOOK AT REAL - LAST YEAR ALL KORAK ALSO

GERRARD SHUD GO IN 6MTHS FOR WHACKIN PPL

Dioswkg : Ya lah, like what my dearie FGL said, I merely said IT DOESN'T GUARANTEE SILVERWARE. I never said silverware was impossible for them to get their hands on.

Sure having lotsa moolah flying about will accelerate the process of acquiring the highly sought-after trophies.

I don't deny that.

Dear - Yea man. So Gerrard admits that he did lay hands on the dude? Haiyo. Not cool at all, StevieG. Not cool.
How's the case coming along btw?

Yup it just means Arse will be outside top 4 in a season or two.
Wenger need to spend big moolah on star players, esp with pompey new owner, bpl will be a place for glory hunters!!
Majority of nudecastle fans will jump to pompey next!!! Or have they gone to shitty??

Aiya, Portsmouth are just spoiling the market even more la.

When next next season's transfer window opens, i tell you there will be inflation like no other. Decent players like Fabregas, Lampard & Bellamy will be priced ridiculously high. And the truly world-class players will be so "i-could-just-poke-my-eyes-out" expensive that clubs which have no billionaire/sheikh owner will never be able to have them.

Not even in their wildest of dreams.

dtrulez38 - Crush Man Utd at OT 4-1? Haiyo.

Don't kid yourself.

Yea, all foreign-owned. Looks like Portsmouth are gonna be climbing up the BPL table soon.

LETS FACE IT - THE JURY WERE PROLLY POOL FANS AND DIDNT WANNA CONVICT THEIR FAV SOCCER STAR.

IT'S A SAD DAY FOR THE WORLD WHEN THEY DO THIS KIND OF THING - IT SENDS OUT THE MESSAGE TO THE BIG GUN TOP STARS THAT THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH ANYTHING & EVRYTHING .... JUST LIKE OJ SIMPSON MURDER CASE SOME YEARS BACK..

THE CCTV VIDEO SAYS IT ALL REALLY BUT IF THIS IS THE KIND OF VERDICT THAT THE JURY CAN COME UP WITH ..... IT'S A SAD SAD DAY FOR JUSTICE...

cctv show gerrad walking up to te guy, stick his face into hthe victim"s face and screaming insults into him "who the f*** do you think you are"

cct show victim standing up with a worried look on his fcae.

cctv show gerrards' first swing first blow followed by Gerrard go and hammer ... what self defence ... the poor dude was surrounded ....

It evident all were drunk and if all other 5 of Gerrards friends plead guilty .. how can he be not guilty right?

hahaha he said he punched first cause he thought he was going to be attacked? BULLSHIT!

I used to admire Gerrard before even though he is a pool player but this shows he's no diffirent from any superstar attittude problem prima donna and all my previous admiration for him is outthe window ....

i THINK THERES SOME KIND OF CONSPIRACY .... POOL, THE FA, THE OTHER "POWERS THAT BE" KNOW THAT IF GERRARD IS JAILED OR BANNED / SUSPENDED - A LOT OF REVENUE IS GONNA BE LOST FOR POOL AS WELL AS SPONSORSHIP & OTHER COMMERCIAL DEALS ETC ETC ...

DOWN WITH GERRARD!

I see nothing wrong with being a hooligan. Someone insults you, its only natural to respond. Action speaks louder than words. So too bad FGL however bitter you might be, life sucks but it goes on, so less whining please.

REDKNAPP: VIEIRA WANTS SPURS MOVE

Former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira has told Harry Redknapp he wants to join Tottenham from Inter Milan.
Redknapp's priority at the moment is for cover at centre-back but he is also in the market for a defensive midfielder and the club have made an enquiry to Real Madrid about Lassana Diarra.
He feels Vieira would add quality to his midfield and has no reservations over the 33-year-old spending almost a decade at the club's rivals.
"I'm still interested in Patrick, I would like him," Redknapp said after the friendly 1-1 draw against Barcelona at Wembley.
"What's he done wrong? He hasn't killed anyone, he's just a great player who played for Arsenal.
"If he wants to come to Tottenham it shows you about his character. He wants to come and play, he's a fantastic player and wants to play here."
Jake Livermore, having signed a new contract with the club earlier in the day, grabbed the equaliser against Barca after Bojan Krkic had opened the scoring.
The European champions fielded a team of reserves and youngsters but gave Spurs a massive test with their passing.
"It's very difficult to play under that pressure - anyone can play when given time," he added. "I should have had my youth team here to watch.
"The whole club is a credit to football. People will only talk about their passing but I saw the other side of their game."
Redknapp auditioned Vedran Corluka, Tom Huddlestone, Pascal Chimbonda and Dorian Dervite at centre-back as Ledley King, Michael Dawson and Jonathan Woodgate are sidelined.
"I haven't got a lot of options," Redknapp added.
"It was difficult with the movement they had to deal with. It was a different system, unlike a team from England when they would have a big centre-forward to play against."
Barca coach Pep Guardiola feels the future is bright with the youngsters he has available.
"There are five or six players at the top level," he said. "They are young but the season is long and it is comforting to know I can use them if there are problems."
Guardiola is determined to match Real Madrid after their summer of spending.
"We are going to try," he said. "They pay a lot of money to get players but we're going to try - we'll take the ball and attack.
"I'm convinced if we have the same spirit we are going to be there at the end of the season looking to get something."
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to join from Inter with Samuel Eto'o poised to go in the opposite direction, and when asked whose decision it was, the Barca coach said: "It was my decision."

GOSH NO!
