THE FOOTBALL THREAD Vol 2

Hmmm....News is that some new Sheikh billionaire is close to acquiring Portsmouth FC.

Waaah. All these Sheikhs all happily buying English clubs like the buying potong ice-cream from the mama shop.

Eh no la, he's no sheikh. He's a business man based in Dubai.

Still.

all this ali babas can buy potong icecream til the height of 10 x petronas towers n stil got lotsa spare change man..

even robinsons shopping is nw owned by sheikh..maybe in time to come, they will owe al mamak stalls in sg

Yeah man. Buying a football club for like 200 million pounds is like loose change for them.

Robinsons is owned by a sheikh also?? Waa!

Yea in time to come, these sheikhs will be owning every big thing there is out there!

Being in top 4 will be harder in future if teams does not spend big $$ cause of this bloody f rich sheik.

They will spend crazy $$ on just a single player and thus, push the price upwards. Teams like bolton, spurs, everton can forget about finishing in the top 4 or even forget about europe totally as they will not have the $$ to fight with the big boys (arse, manures, lfc) and the rich team (cheatsea, shitty, coming soon pompey).

BPL will be a place for sheik to show off their wealth and egos !

NASRI BROKE LEG IN TACKLE WITH DIABY - REPORTS

Abou Diaby is thought to have been the Arsenal player involved in the tackle that resulted in Samir Nasri breaking his leg on the second day of Arsenal's pre-season training session in Austria.

With the sort of injury blow that has become routine for the Gunners, although it is unusual for even an Arsenal player to suffer such a severe setback almost a full month before the new season begins, Nasri has been ruled out until October with a broken fibula.
The Daily Mail reports that, 'The France midfielder was carried from the pitch by Arsenal physio Colin Lewin and club doctor Gary O'Driscoll after fracturing a fibula in a challenge believed to have been made by Abou Diaby.'
The Sun also identifies the luckless Diaby as being involved in the tackle.
Although Tomas Rosicky made his first appearance in an Arsenal shirt for almost 18 months on Saturday, the loss of Nasri is a considerable blow to Arsene Wenger. It was thought that he was considering using Nasri on the left of midfield so that he could deploy Andrei Arshavin centrally. That plan may now have to be jettisoned, at least until Rosicky is fully fit again. Diaby himself would be another option, as would Carlos Vela.
According to The Guardian, Nasri's enforced absence may force Wenger to find an emergency solution in the transfer market. 'The Arsenal manager was already in the market for a midfielder and his search is likely to intensify with the loss of another player from that department,' it reports.

Seriously, why do we even keep Diaby????

Philippe Senderos... defender's future uncertain

Wenger - Senderos future is still ‘open’

Arsène Wenger admits the future of Philippe Senderos is still undecided.

After making 15 appearances for AC Milan during a season-long loan deal in 2008/09, the Swiss defender, who has appeared 115 times for the Gunners, is back at the Club.

He made his first Arsenal appearance for over a year on Tuesday night as a second-half substitute in the Gunners’ 7-1 victory over SC Columbia.

But whether or not Senderos will stay in North London is unclear. Speaking after the match, Wenger gave an update on the 24-year-old’s situation.

“It’s open,” the manager said. “At the moment he is looking for solutions.

“He has many opportunities but he has to decide on his future.”

SELL HIM ARSENE, SELL HIM TO SPURS!!!

Haiyo haiyo...*tsk tsk*

Break your own team-mate's leg accidentally during a training session ah?

*shakes head*

Arsenal sucks IMO but still. It's sad when u read reports of players sustaining bad, serious injuries.

So despite the fact he plays for a team i detest, Nasri, here's to you. Get well soon, bro.

Waahh...Such a nice gesture or should I say loving gesture! Thanks!

Yea, I mean, I don't like the club Nasri plays for & his French manager is more often than not the pain in my arse but no player deserves to have their legs broken & be out of action for months. I remember when that jerk Martin Taylor hard tackled Eduardo. His injuries were so horrifyingly graphic that they decided not to show replays at all. :( And from what I read, Eduardo can't even remember the incident! I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

I am so happy that he is all right now. :D
