The Ernie Ball Music Man Thread

Okay, something about the Sparkle here.

Everytime when people said things like "you gotto see it in real person" or "that thing really looks better than photo", it really bother me how a finish everyone rave about does not turn out superb on film. Well, I got my questions answered last night.

When we opened up the case last night, under dim lighting in the living room (as you guyz can figure from the photos.." the first words are, "OMG, WTF, look at the sparks!" Next, it was camera all over. Yup, in order to make the sparkle glows, you cant use flash. Why? The poly finish is so damn thick and looked so bloody wet! Flash on it will whiten the image captured. To our surprise, natural living room lighting (warm-white) is good enough to make the sparkle shimmers with glory! The photos taken are done without flash. This is the real deal - full sparkle in Autumn Redburst finish (aunties from People's Park will know - just check out their sequinned outfits..). Yes, I agreed with Sterling Ball's stand of not producing these again. The Sparkle has the BEST finish of all the Balls I have handled. Producing them will be against marketing logics if there is no demand. This is really a piece of EBMM's history, and I am honoured to bring it in.

Next mission - photo session under the summer sun of Spore, and more rare Balls..

You are like 1 of the guys at Petrucci Forum which has almost every colour of the Petrucci model. Guess we could meet up for a MusicMan chat?

hahaha... No. not necessarily. You're talking about someone I know, who's also in the EBMM forum. I just like it because it's a Silo Spec, which i don't have, and in sparkles.

Musicman chat? Sure! bring you Petrucci. I want to hear how it sound WITHOUT piezo and see if there's really a difference... There's a slight acoustic difference on my 20th Silos, but it's not audible when plugged in.

This thing have a rosewood board and matching headstock. I am not allocating it to any buyer yet. In the process of negotiating with my dealer. 3 weeks - in 3 weeks times you may see it.

Well, if it is, you know my number... Mint condition ya?

The Sparkle is dated 2002. Slight fret wear, slight scratch mark on the tremolo cavity backplate, aged white plastics, but absolutely no ding, dent, dong on the wood, finishes and anything that is irreplaceable. Yup, unlike other Sparkles - this one has no "obligatory stress crack" (boo-s#!T to me...) at the neck joint.

The Blue Dawn is mint, new stock.

Stay tuned, Brothers of Balls...

By the way, I think the pic server of my initiate postings is not working. Here are some pics of my other Balls to share. Open to comments.

Dargin hinted that it may be offered...

If that's true... I can kiss my Harrier's deposit goodbye...
