Whoa, it really does some extreme stuff. Too much for me but awesome nonetheless (esp the shimmer) haha,. I'm still waiting for a decent demo of the 919, curious about how that sounds.

And at 499usd (listed on sweetwater.com)... eeshh

Eventide's made some mythical promises. Claiming to have had fit so much of their rack stuff into this... THIS. Their standard stompbox (which isn't all that small, but still!). Insane man.

But considering the quality the Factor pedals have delivered, I trust this to be equally worth the pedalboard real estate.

Yeah I agree that its too big also but at least the space is not wasted like with original tonebenders, big muffs etc haha.

Are you gona upsize to a PT-2 if you get it? Looks like you have to from what I remember of your board.

Love the Blackhole, I wanna hear how the dual verb or trem verb modes sound like... But do people really like this kind of shimmer? It's way too in-your-face and overpowers the clean signal, can't even call it "reverb" anymore. Might as well use a POG.

To me the main appeal of Eventide's stompboxes is MIDI control and the sheer number of knobs for instant tweaking which makes the size worth it. I'd love to use some of them with a hardware synth setup. For guitar I'm gonna try and be happy with my blueSky and not think about all the new gear this year

The sound on the demo could just be a preset and the shimmer mix could be adjustable but I'm not sure also. Being able to double up as a POG might be a good thing for some people haha.

Have fun trying not to be tempted by the eventide haha.

@wck: No way man. sticking to my Pt Jr. Lol...As much as i love this, the price tag on this is ridiculous for a newbie like me. need a replacement for my verbzilla thats all really, darn tonecores are really unreliable. Actually asked Dan from T1M about a rehousing, he said it could be done, bt... the cost of it cant be justified. so i backed out. lol grr... maybe it's just me reading TGP too much, but i'm giving the WET a good bit of consideration. bt that one has no shimmer =(

haha likewise i use my verbzilla only for octo. it's been good so far though. Im thinking of an RV5 too.. for the modulated reverb. I need a bigger board!

Get a simple stereo reverb like a Boss RV-5 and run one channel into a pitchshifter and back into the RV-5's second input. I tried running a POG in the effects loop of a Deluxe Memory Boy too, really nice results if you dial it in subtly.

May not be exactly the same but it's more fun making your own modulated/shimmer reverbs.

the shimmer on my verbzilla is very impt to me. I use it to bring climax to my quiet moment riffs in between loud choruses.. in church guitarist lingo: it brings a climax to my free worship doddling! and that's really important to me hah
