ok softies. for those who alr gave up on radio (like me). feel free to rant on when and why. my story:
my taste in music was pretty swingy when i was young. the only thing constant was that i like things melodic. when i was young, i was stuck listening to the oldies from abba, bee gees, elton john and so on. so obviously i grew an appreciation for these kinda music.
then in kicked pop stars like britney and backstreet boys. that was primary school. got sick of them in sec 1 when my friend introduced me to the world of techno. went techno crazy for abt a year or 2 before my ears got sick of hearing the same groove over and over again in a diff key sung by diff ppl.
after that came rock and hard rock. starting with bands like u2, puddle of mudd, blink 182 and POD. those got me really interested in learning a musical instrument. then as i got all these songs on my mp3, i stopped listening to radio for a good while, about 2 to 3 years?
when i came back, it was back to pop on radio with the likes of justin timberlake and shakira. so that was my musical direction during most of my poly days up to end of year 2.
after that in came some friend with his dragonforce and sonata arctica albums. spamming me song after song till i got hooked. then wanting more heavy stuff, i ventured further with bands like COF, COB and FFDP.
finally one fine day, my mom switched on the radio and in came rnb. i was like WTF?!?! they dun allow heavy metal on radio but they allow songs that talk abt girls and sex? didnt sit very well with me and that was it. i officially gave up on radio since then. till now, its still rnb on radio. a few pop songs once in awhile, but i gave up on that alr.
ok thanks for taking ur time to read till this sentence. just another guy who's got too much time in his hands to rant abt random stuff
but if u wanna rant abt why u gave up on radio, feel free to do so here as i alr have hahah
