as a local "rock"/"metal"/"alternative" bands etc, why does it have to make it big somewhere else before people listen to it or proud of it?

support them, listen to them and be proud of what we have here(if you like their music , of course), even if the band is not going to get anywhere big anywhere for the next 10 years....

no one made it big to the good ol' USA yet eh? hope they do den id be proud

rudra has actually. they tour playing small underground gigs there and have a pretty big fanbase there.

Come on man,
Why bother with US? USA has not produced any mainstream rock acts worth mentioning in the last few years. Look at the legends led zep stones beatles all came from england. the best rock bands today still come from england. if anywhere it would be good to make it big first it'd be england and not US. but it'd be fairer for people to expect a chinese or malay band to make it in their own country first. just like the way people view pug jelly here, it's natural for them to view an asian band in the same light there
