The All-New Ibanez Appreciation Thread

never held on to so many Ibanez guitars at one single point in time before. let me just admire them for a little longer.

Oh! Look at the beautiful firewood!

Such a glorious waste of space...:p

own a rg370b..i bought it 2nd hand at soft..i really want a pgm300..but i thought of changing pick ups to dimarzio..anyone wants to recommend which model should i go for ?

Again, it depends on the type of music you're looking to play. Since you've an RG i would guess its more towards the hard rock side. DiMarzio Evo, Super Distortion and Tonezone are the favourites for bridge, Breed, PAF Pro and Air Norton are favourites for neck. Most popular combo by far is Tonezone bridge and Air Norton/PAF Pro for neck. I own an Ibanez RGTCR2 (derivative of a 2006 Ibanez RGT42DX but with a cross inlay at the 12th-14th fret instead of the usual sharktooth inlay). I'd like to try the LiquiFire/Air Norton combo someday.

My contribution to the post, a versatile and quite serious sounding guitar! I thought of selling it a while ago but now it's a no-no!

i love everything about this guitar less the pickups. not saying they are sub-standard but it's just not what i want to hear...

Try to see if a Gotoh FR bridge can fit into the cavity. if so swap it out. one bridge is less than $200. much better compared to selling it if you like the guitar.

what happened to your Edge III?

My Edge III is fine but I did own an MTM-2 before which has a fixed Edge III Bridge. basically the locking portion of the saddle was worn off but I searched everywhere without any luck for a replacement.

Quite a handfull of people have the same problem too.

Edge III however is a stable trem that is true but having spare parts available would help a lot. Ordering from Rich just isn't practical.

Yup. Was at Beez yesterday. And as usual he commented on my Edge III saying how corroded it is i gotta change it.
Not sure if i can find replacement saddles here. Its those that hold the strings to the bridge. Its darn rusty.
Maybe I would blame my acid hands. But it rusted 2 weeks after acquiring it brand new o.o
