Thai electric guitar-like instrument

hi guys, found something interesting on youtube, and would like to share it with you. apparently, there is this electric guitar-like instrument from Isan (northeast Thailand) called the phin.

anyways, the cool thing about it is its decorative head (not found on the one in the video), which can take the shape of a dragon, naga, etc.

Looks like there's a 1/4'' input beside the knobs. Maybe it does plug into a normal guitar amp.

The frets are all over on these. Look like it might not be chromatic.
