for more mods than usual, go here
http://guitarnuts2.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=wiring
spend time going through the threads and you will have a better understanding of the mods available and what you want. Those folks in there do "more is still more" mod and not the usual "less is more" mod.
The 4 way switch mod is targeted at the standard tele with 2 pickup config, to get another additional config of bridge+neck pickup in series(thicker and louder sounding pseudo humbucker-ish). If you are using 3 pickups, theres no reason to use a 4 way switch, just go direct to a 5 way switch ala strat wiring. For almost everything mod, use a 5 way mega switch(which i used to buy from davis geetar couple years back) and all push pull pot.
With 3 pickup, 5 way mega switch and push pull pots, you can get all fanciful with in/out phase wiring, series/parallel wiring plus all the different combo of pickup config etc, without any changes to the external look on the instrument itself. If wanna more, theres still blending pickup config, no load tone pot mod as well.
Anyway, end of the day, go thru those threads in the guitarnuts forums and know what you wanna. Some of the mods in there are testing the instrument limit of squeezing as much mods in one tiny cavity as possible, it can get confusing, for the wiring.
Last thing, if you wanna do those mod on your own, even before thinking of what mod you wanna, do spend some time learning how push pull pots, pickup switch etc work. It will help a lot in troubleshooting and coming up with your own mod for the wiring or even understanding how wiring mods from others work. It can be fun and addictive, but very time consuming, especially starting from scratch. Anyway, most of the info on how those various part in geetar wiring can be found online, just a matter of searching and spending time to disgest it.
Have fun!
