Tele Fans?

Ah bro Cyanide, I think I have too many 'The ONES' already hahaha .. It's the best Tele I've played for sure. But my Tyler and Angus give it a heck of a run. How ever this Tele prob isn't for the Tele lover. It's got a certain grind and bottom end that shocked me and loves the Diezel. It was more of an overall combi thing ...

Yeah man I get you... My Nocaster also had a surprising amount of bass and lower-mids coming from it, must be due to the weight lol. Its pairing with the AC4TV is perfect too, giving a nice, biting top-end.

No such thing as too many of 'The Ones'!!!

I tried 16 other pieces of nash's before the store owner brought this piece to me. I didn't expect anything. But my first strum and I was like 'Thats insane!!!!' ... Frequencies I was hearing wowed me.

Which store where you at? You're really persistent, 16 pieces of nash! How long did you take? Haha! Can't imagine how good it is.....

@ToneJedi: I think you got a little bit confused. The Alnico Blue is the Celestion model, whereas the Blue Dog is the Weber one. Hmm, maybe you can try looking for an Eminence Red Fang? I heard that those do VOX amps justice as well.

I would like to do a Micawber-inspired build someday as well, any tips?

Yes, I mixed them up again! Haha, so alert of you to spot it. I've already narrowed down my choice to weber blue dog since it's 15w and 16 ohm. The rest of the speakers just doesn't quite appeal to me, not sure why.

What's a micaweber? I can't build anything, I can only assemble parts together.

By the way, I just received my usacg tele neck! Thick like yours but it's rosewood fretboard and stainless steel 6105 frets. Can't wait to do some finishing tomorrow. I'll post pictures then.

Guitareast bro..... Yeah it took a long time
Man, but hell I had time and how better to spend ya time .. And seriously I went to try an amp not a guitar .. Just couldn't live without it after

@ToneJedi: Nice... What build are you planning this time?

Micawber is Keith Richards no. 1 Tele, the '53 blonde with a covered humbucker in the neck. Freakin' sexy I tell you! If I'm gonna do a parts-caster it'll be a toss-up between this one or an Albert Collins build. Was wondering if you had any tips in regards to the best places for sourcing parts and electronics.

Haha for VOX amps, Alnico speakers are the way to go if you really want to recapture that signature sound! I guess that's why they call Alnico the 'musical magnet' lol.

It's the same esquire build I mentioned many pages ago, haha, still not complete, waiting for my donmare pickups which will be here end of next month, waiting time is 7 weeks.

Yes, I did my fair share of research before sourcing parts. That's how I found rutters and decided to use his bridge over callaham or glendale. Depends on what you want and your budget, let me know and I'll show you the websites you can buy parts.

To me, assembling partscaster is like building a business, haha! Some parts are pure cosmetic, you can save the money, some parts like neck, you should get a really high quality one.

Best tip for partscasters and business..... be decisive, do your research, don't over analyze, haha. If you do finishing yourself, you will save at least US$400 but of course, no relic nitro look. At most you can do oil finishing or shellac or anything non-toxic.

Musical magnet! Nice way to put it! Fortunately, the ac4 cab is big enough to contain it. Most combos are too small for such alnico speakers.

That's it bro. They bring the highest end stuff .. If you see anything you like .. Gimme a text and I'll hook ya up with em bro..

Why not you PM me with your questions? I'll do my best to help you out.

First of all, I don't consider myself an expert on playing or assembling. My last assemble was a strat, that was more than 10 years ago while I was still studying. Then I worked part time as a waiter to fund the project, haha.

My current esquire assemble is based on learning from past mistakes and personal preference. For example, I like thick necks, tall and thin frets, light weight body with nice grain, low output pickups.

Look at my avatar, that's the strat I assembled more than 10 years back, it has tele saddles on tremolo bridge, crazy modification, haha, sounds good though. Intonates well, thanks to Jerry Donahue's tele intonation method.

You won't consider it as damage because this is a smart investment in assembling an instrument which you will love to play. It will also keep you from g.a.s because you get so used to your unique combination that no other, off the shelf guitar (even if it's a boutique brand) can satisfy you.

It cost me a little less than SG$1,800 including shipping and paying people to do wiring, installing bridge, nut, set up. I forgot how to wire, don't have drill to install bridge, can't install a nut and no time to set up. Ironically, I do have a little time to do tru-oil finishing.

If you choose to have a neck pickup, it would cost you a bit more, depending on what your choice of pickup. If you pay someone to do finishing, it also depends on what kind of finishing you want and who does it for you.

vpost.com.sg - that's how I save money on shipping. Works for most items, except alnico speakers which are too heavy, haha. Also remember to consolidate your shipments and use their promotion code when paying.

Once I'm done with my esquire, I'll start a new thread with photos to explain the entire process including the finishing.
