Tapestry 2008 auditions!!!!!!!!

Hello Fellow Softies :rolleyes:

Yeah just wonderin...
How many of u here were up for Tapestry Auditions??
And any bands got in?? show yourselves!

Cos im kinda pricky..
What happened was on one of the audition dates..
my band came in on time and we were the first band to audition in the morning.
The funny part was we even cam before the judges.
And then 1 judge came..
Asked if it was ok for us to be auditioned with only one judge cos the rest havent came.

Co-operative as we were, we agreed.

And during it, there was only him alone. 1 judge. He didnt even interview us like what influences we were and our band's background (Besides being presented with our 2 originals). All he said was he'd notify us at the end of the month. And for the following bands who auditioned, there came another 3 or 4 more judges to judge them.

I might sound like a sore loser budden again i feel its not fair to be judged by only one person. Additionally by the looks of it, its already the end of the month. Which means we're out. LOL. Just like that. *Snap Fingers*

Well its ok.. we still keep our heads up tho. \m/,

Those bands that got in.. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Its a very good opportunity to be showcased in Tapestry :mrgreen:
 
I don't think it means u're out....my band hasn't received any news as well.
I mean...they should inform the bands even if they're not picked.

And I agree with u that the auditions didn't go very well.....it was more than an hour behind schedule and we were only given 10 min to set up and play instead of the 15 min as promised.
That means we only got to play 1 song.

So I've no idea how they're gonna select bands based on only 1 song.

Anyway I hope u guys get in =)

well first of all, i feel for you when you came down before the judges arrived (had a similar experience during one of my gig, arrived there). but then again, i guess we should cut them some slack since they're doing us a favor in putting us in a gig slot without the hassle of pushing ticket sales and whatnot.

well i hope you dont see being judged by one judge as being bad afterall, and you manage to play two originals. i believe some bands didn't have time to play two songs due to time shortage. time shortages are inevitable problems faced in most events so do expect that. not every band will be there on time, and use less than 15 minutes set-up + audit time.

well for now, just be optimistic and anticipate for the results. they've not contacted me too so yea. don't you worry. i believe the organizers will post the results eventually.

and to MaCcA dude,
well i've been to some auditions whereby every band are given only 1 minute of audit time. we didnt even make it to the chorus, trust me. *nods*

p.s. dont give up hope if any bands didnt make it, there's always next year. *nods*

I guess that means the best looking bands will get thru? lol

hahaiiiii lol bro.. it sounds like one minute of fame. but yeah, timing and not meeting the planned itinerary; its REALLY inevitable.. im trying to digest and be optimistic. all the best to the rest of u music blokes :D post more views and results if ure in!! cheers.
 
i got the call from the tapestry people at like,1030pm?

they told us where to perform and what time our slot is.
