Tama tension Watch

Hi expert, anyone owned a tama Tension Watch? What doesu guys thinkof it? Worth buying? Reason so is because i m amatuer in tuning drum.. Any great advise out there? Thanks for your feedback

well,im no expert but,what i can say is,
it would be better if you could learn from experience drummers on how to tune it the good old-fashion way.This is because you wouldnt want to be relying on a device to tune drums forever.In addition to that,tunning allows you,the drummer to give it that precise tweaking to make it sound just like you want it,jit just adds that alittle bit of sweetness to the sound u want.

I've got one which i used to use. It's only really useful when u like change skins 'cos it requires your drum to be placed on a flat surface. If you're like me/most drummers, your drums will be mostly be mounted at an angle which makes the tension watch unusable. So unless you don't mind unmounting all your drums every time u need to tune them then I guess it's useful.

its definitely useful. mr drmp (nigel) from drum resources has one, although he did mention that you cannot depend on it entirely to getting a good sound, it can come in handy. pay him a visit to check it out and for more reviews/

Good tuning used to take years of experience and tuning each drum often felt like it took years. No more. The TW100 measures actual head (not tuning rod-tension) on an easy to read meter, so you can record the numbers and duplicate your best tuning time after time. Or you can use the suggested sample tunings in the directions.
Either way Tension Watch lets you spend more time playing and less time tuning.

wow. i never knew! that's amazing. so how are you supposed to tune it such that the dial hits the zero?
