"take your pick. Me or your band?"

yeah thats a sticky situation to be in. girlfriend or band

i pity the dude. its not as though jamming takes up alot of time

There is 2 analysis to this problem...

[1] If his partner understands his passion for music and the bond he shares with the band, she shouldn't make it a matter of me or the band thingy. In 1 manner, she is acting like a childish brat. Pardon me, but since this is probably a fictional scenario, I guess I am offending no one.

[2] The dude, on the other hand, in my opinion, doesn't treat the band proper, nor gave it an respect @ all (pardon me again). Friendship forged within a band cannot be easily replaced by a new chick in the block but if that happens, the loyalty and friendship of this dude is severely compromised. Band, in my opinion again, is like family and nobody treats their family like crap because of 1 chick.

If something must be done, please drag these 2 buggers out to the beach and give them to firing squad treatment!! SERIOUSLY *lol*

haha.
well i had a band member like that before

when a pussy came into his life..his playing went downhill, came late for jammings and then gig,did not wanna hang out at all..quite f***** up.

the last straw came when he did not answer calls and smses...
after a few days dared not even come down to meet us as we wanted to talk to talk to him face to face about what was happening..he callled my bassist and said that he`s galfrd said that she wanted to spend more time with him and that she also wanted him to change his music genre.so that was the reason..tsk tsk..pity pity

so..that`s sums it all...DONT BE A CHE HONG KIA..they come and go in all shapes and sizes

rock the F*** on!

mind if i hijack a bit?
what if this person's girlfriend wants time with this person and doesn't mind being brought to jam sessions, but hated one of this person's band member? i can't imagine instruments ending on someone's head heh.

Hahahaha then she'd better control her temper because whether she likes it or not,
the jam doesn't involve her in any ways.So if she decides to screw everything up
by spilling faces at the member that she's unhappy with,it will result to everyone in the band getting pissed at her.

The easiest option - If you wanna come to watch, and you don't mind being brought there,
but there's one person you don't really fancy, just shut the hell up and wait.Do it for your boyfriend atleast. :D

i see the excitement of various members on the topic "gay".

hehe just kidding

anyway for me i'll tell her that i choose her over the band

but i'll still play with the band.

hehheh..i personally its best if no one chips into the mood of the band eh?

This situation escapes me since my gf has always been supportive..

Well.. A simple compromise if the partner truly wants to spend more time:
BRING THE BUGGER ALONG!!!

Haha.. But seriously lah.. This depends on how OFTEN he goes jamming.. If it's every 2 days, then she has every reason to be selfish.. If he goes like once a week, or less, then she is being ignorant on his needs.. Everyone needs their personal space, and, if you truly love something, you'd set it free!

But funny how puppy love is becoming more rampant among the youths of our generation.. This may prove to be one such case..
