Hi people!
This is my 1st post here..
I wanna learn guitar.. actually.. i know some chords already (and i only know chords.. i know nuts abot theories..:()

I've seen people say Takamine is quite good.. i have a tight budget of around 200-250..
People says the Takamine G-340 is good and costs $250.. but right now Singapore like all out of stock..

So can please recommend me another model that fits my budget?

Thanks in advance!!!!!

Can't really think of anything other than Takamine at that price range that is good, but there are other Takamine models below $250. If not, the Finas, Johnsons and Samick Greg Bennetts at Davis are pretty good too.

You might also wanna try Custom Acoustic at City Music. (Welcome to City Music!)

Hope this helped!

Hi EugeneSmasher, thanks for the reply.

i was looking at the custom acoustic now too, after being told by a fren.
I looking at the FG206.. dunno if its good.. any comments from anyone?
I saw from a forum that the FG206E costs $288 and is currently out of stock..

Anyone went to city music recently?

Thanks in advance!

get the takamine D series. the ones without pickups cost 200+ and with pickups is 300+.

if u want solid tops, u can try getting fina or custom acoustic.

as mentioned, Takamines are the best for your budget IMO. just head down to Davis guitar and try the Takas that are within your budget. i'm sure you will be able to find a suitable guitar that you like.

personally i prefer the D-series to the G-series :)

Takamine G440C, its a dreadnought cutaway...

I have it, it sounds awesome for mine. action is bad if you like to play the lower few frets...

Ca Fg206

Hey Rui84, I actually own a Custom Acoustic FG206 myself. It actually sounds quite good. Has a bright sound. Also, it has a thicker neck and a wider fretboard. Craftsmanship for it is not bad. Would say it's worth how much it cost.

Hey thanks all for the advice!

I got a Custom Acoustic FG812 from a friend! But the thing is, I prefer the FG206E! (The story in between is complicated, i'll skip it.)

My friend got it for 284. He din get the FG206E cuz the salesman told him the wrong price! Its supposed to be 332 but he said 380.. diaoz..

So now i'm hoping to sell away the FG812, hopefully at around 270.. (those who are sharp will have caught my thread in the buy/sell section, haha) I only played it twice so far, total less than 30mins..

hmmm, hearing from ur situation, wat i suggest is head down to some of the guitar shops around... and try them out... to me, i feel is the guitar choose u... not u choose the guitar... dun y leh... (u might not wanna take this advise thou.) but most people will agree with me, that the feel of ur guitar is the most important... if something aobut it doesn't feel rite... then its probably not ur type. just move on and find another one... and from ur budget... u can actually find alof out there.
