Not to worry. Sequencing requires a lot of skills. You can tell straight away if people just use loop based sequencing or proper sequencing applying techniques, theory and arrangment skills. So while there may be more and more software based music, soon the market will be flooded (cannot avoid that) and then there will be an increase in demand to hear higher quality music than just loops. Many of those sequenced music out there gives ear fatigue after a while.
So for all people using softsynths and softsamplers, good idea to keep your skills sharpened (arrangement and composition) - don't want to sound like everyone else. Bad sequenced music sounds dead. The highest form of sequencing - to make it as realistic as real players playing so you cannot tell the difference.
Iansoh, don't know the rate now. About 6 years ago when I did a musical, one piece of music (full orchestral sequencing lasting about 20 minutes) is more than 1K. Because I did it for a friend's friend, I didn't charge. But I couldn't do the entire thing because of time constraint - he hired another person who did 2 scenes while I did 6 scenes. That guy charged $1200-1500 per piece, if I recall correctly.
