SX starter bass pack

hmm

i had a fren hu bought the sx starter set..
now he regret it alot since the fretboard got prob.

i think sx is fine but u shud not get its starter set.
anyways, there are a lot of better basses which are cheap and better than sx.
try timbre from standardvalue.... their tone kills!

Cause actually the starter bass set also comes with an amp tuner etc etc. The next cheapest one i saw was for 399, cant remember the brand.

well it all comes back to ur own decision..
anyways, if u decide to buy any kind of bass, the most important thing is to check and test the bass. every copy might have diff flaws...

instruments in the lower rungs of the brand name's offerings are often inconcictent in QC- i've come across both the guitar & bass starter packs by SX, they are ok. just check them before buying.

i just got a bg2 starter today from davis. ok lar.. as in, i just started only. i feel the neck is a lil thicker then a ibanez starter only.

I personally don't think the starter packs are good.
Go for SXes that are of 70's and 60's copies.
Anyway, does anyone know how or where can I ask to import certain SX bass models? Especially those from Rondo Music. According to a lot of reviews, they are of good quality and has good tone.

a few of us softies may be planning a mass order from Rondomusic, since Davis, despite being the distributor for SX, was unwilling to bring them in for us. look out for it.

^ it sure is pal. too bad i aint got cash now. i hope them guys get another mass order sometime at the end of the year, then the 2nd round of us can get it too.

ok. maybe to widen ur choices, i would say try the Stagg, Ltd and Aria basses also. They are quite good too.

If u still wanna stick to SX, don't go for the starter pack. Try out the SX pirate series instead.

Go for stagg. Great value for money. Got one Jazz Bass for $299 and never looked back. it is a bass worth keeping and gigging with. For the remaining $1:D, you can either save until abt a hundred to get an amp, or you can get multi effects/pandorra(second hand) which you can run your bass into and out by ear phones. Neighbours wont complain that way.
