Switching SSS pickups to P90s. Need advice.

Hi folks.

Am thinking of switching the 3 single coil pups on one of my strats to humbucker sized p90s. My strat has a swimming pool routing, so I don't think that is going to be a problem. Pickguard will also def be changing to HH type.

1. Will I need to change pots?
2. Will a 5-way switch work or will a 3-way be better?
3. Will I still require 2 tone knobs?

Any other things I should be concerned with?

Any advice would be great. Thanks!

a 3 way switch is enough, and about the 2 tones, you could if you want to have full tonal control over the 2 p-90s or change it so it is 2 volumes and 1 master tone, up to you

thanks kahuna!

I suppose I can keep it at 2 knobs in all? one master tone and one master volume?

And pots have to change to 500k pots right?

yep, you have to use 500k pots. And yeah you can keep it at 2 knobs, but i think you'll have an extra hole in the pickguard right? If it was me, i would put either 1 vol, 2 tone or 2 vol 1 tone. But well thats just me. Hope that helps:)
