sustainer pickup

hey all, sorry for creating another thread here. but heres another question that i need answered, i recently got a burny les paul with the sustainer system, its greats and all, but with the sustainer off i can operate between the neck and bridge pickup, but when i turn the sustainer on, it seems that i can only use the bridge pickup. my sustainer is in the neck posistion. so is this normal? or is it just me?

hey dude... where did ya get it and how much was it??

if ya dont bother reading manuals, here's a simple explanation. the neck just helps to "vibrate" the string, hence, giving the sustain, while the bridge just pick up the sound on the string u picked or strum.
