nice meeting you at soundmix yah. hahah :D

intending to buy one?

Yeah pleasant surprise. Too bad i was lazy enough to not take a look at your bass. haha. I'm aiming for one, but long term. Most probably going for 5 stringer with Maple fingerboard... I heard its more stable than its rosewood ones, and it slaps better generally.

lol. seems no1 wants come forward to declare their goods. Wink

It'll take a while more i suppose.

While we're on the topic. Maple or rosewood? Care to comment on your choice with regards to Stingrays? Thanks

..

3notes: Well I've never tried a StingRay 5 before, but the 4s kick major butt. It has that distinct sound coming from the bass. However, it only has that one tone.

And I can't really tell the difference between maple and rosewood slapping so... :?

If you wanna try it out I'll be at Soundmix at around the same time.

There is a SR copy (J&D bros) at music theme, I've checked it out. Quite properly built. It's the last piece there and no more coming in near future.

The finish is quite unique, silver body with big chrome square glitters on the top.

Any fan can consider this piece. But I think the finish more suit pop or funk genre. Peppers cover band is still ok. Not really for hardcore or metal, less you want to stand out (maybe ridiculed).

musicman stingray5

hey there,,i've got a stingray5 for about 10years now.i bought it from the ex bassist from typhoon(canto band), guess he had it for 2-3 years before that.i dont think i'll need another bass man...i've got the rosewood fingerboard candy red colour..
