Hey ppl. my band are really interested in this competition. GO out and show them that band music shld be live band and not boyband sorta stuff. BUT. we are short of a bassist!!!! anyone interested? we play mayday, beyond, guns n roses and rock in general. anw we are a bunch of 17 year olds(any one frm 15 to 20 something are acceptable.). add me on msn if interested. freakout00@hotmail.com cheers.

Date: Jan 14 & 15, 2006
Time: 9am ¨C 6pm
Venue: Orchard Youth Park
*Note
Applicants can bring along acoustic instruments but not instruments that need amplification.
Applicants can choose to sing without musical/audio accompaniment, or bring along an audio CD that contains backing music.
Eligibility
Each SuperBand applicant must consist of a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 6 members and they must be aged between 15-35 years old.
It is NOT a prerequisite for the members to play musical instruments; they can choose to play (instruments) if they want to.
The vocal element must be present, be it in the form of singing or rapping. It must NOT be a purely instrumental or dance group.
The songs performed must be in Mandarin.

Rock bands (Eg Wu Bai, May Day)
Boybands (Eg F4, Energy, 5566)
Girlbands (Eg S.H.E., Twins)
Hip hop/rap groups (Eg Machi)
Pop-rock groups (Eg F.I.R.)
Acapella groups (Eg S.B.D.W.)
Duets (Eg JJ's duet with Jin Sha)
Judging Criteria
A panel of professional judges made up of dance choreographers and image stylists will be invited to each show to play judge to the bands. The weakest band will be eliminated based on the scores awarded by the judges and public voting results (via SMS).
The bands will be judged on dance choreography, vocal harmonies, musicianship, vocal quality, image and overall mass appeal.
The rules are bit weird no drums, no electric guitar just accoustic, rock band audition without instrument shud be interesting to watch. Maybe shud change the contest to Boyband or Girlband contest. My aussie frienfs are laughing their *** off man. They say this is the weirdest rule ever no wonder singapore music is forever screwed. Hmmmm I kindda agree sigh....when will this people ever learn.
