ya , just wanna ask, what cymbal-sets will you guys recomand for students [like me] , and it means 'AFFORDABLE' ones, haha.
and is pAisTe 101 really considered as lousy? X:

Affordable is really subjective alvin, perharps if you can give me a better gauge of your budget i can offer you a better insight.

Generally ill recommend beginners to snatch up the sabian cymbals offers from annually swee lee 50% sale. Anything from AAx, HHx, Hand hammered, Sx, and AA are worth considering. They cost in average about $100+ for one.

Im personally not a fan of those "cymbal sets" , so i wouldnt really recommend one. Unless right now you're not exactly sure if you are interested in drums yet, or have the "flare" for drumming, then maybe you should just get a cheapo set to try out first, and wait till you think you are definetly gonna continue drumming for a long time, then look at the higher range stuff.

Here's a few suggestions:

Paiste: Pst3/5 series
Zildjian: ZHTs series (Bang for buck.. Oh.. Don't get deceived by the Zxts series.. thrash can lid sounds much better)
Sabians: Xs20s or B8pros (either of these are fines)
Istanbuls: Samatya series. Some drummers here have these series.. Nice sound for budget concious drummers.

Have fun..

Turkish Moderate cymbal pack. $380. 14" Hats 16" Crash 20" Ride. Handhammered. Owns any beginner cymbal pack in the market.

Period.
