Fools and retards exist in the real world but nowhere in my statement was there any implication that it was directed at anyone here. Let's not imagine a problem that has not arisen.

Thanks for your kind remarks on the Jams...I am glad you did not feel "intimidated" (a negative sentiment I must admit) like some others. But then again you knew your stuff.

The jams are a bit of an institution now, officially sanctioned and supported by the organisation that controls the buliding and facilities. I keep it going by hook or crook ! I will be in LA and NY (sorry Chicago no time) over the next 3 weeks..hope to catch some of the live jazz esp in NY.

You keep the music swinging and grooving OK !

Frank, I wrote you an email a long time ago. Did you ever get it? I'm doing fine here... in a Jazz trio now doing gigs as we get them and learning from another one of Chicago's finest, Ernie Adams. Increasing my musical circle of acquaintences too. Your jam sessions are an invaluable resource for anyone serious about improving their playing. Hope you keep it going as long as you can. Everyone needs to attend those!

Who is flaming who? I haven't tried to flame anyone here but as I have said, the flash point here is very low...quite unhealthy for a forum where free exchange is supposed to be encouraged.

I do not believe in getting personal but I will call a spade a spade, and I will voice my opinions even if these may be controversial. And I will defend to the death your right to disagree with me...and then share a coffee and joke about it.

I don't know about you, but I learn more about people and things by having an earnest argument, than by mutual back slapping. All this done in a friendly and amiable manner of course. And yes yes...I am on for that coffee next time we bump.
