Studying music in LaSalle

I once wanted to take music full time. Then i ask myself, what does a paper telling other's i'm good at music do... I realised a lot of famous musicians around the world did not take music when they were in college / university. I occurred to me that opportunity is more important than qualification. Where can we get this opportunity? Choose wisely

Totally agree with you there! Sometimes, all it takes luck and grabbing your chances as they come by, some get famous even through Youtube and they get signed by music companies eg. Boyce Avenue. With the right contacts, publicity, you can definitely pull off the same stunt.

The point here is that, YES indeed music schools provide the foundation and the platform for you to learn and showcase your talent, but there are many successful artistes out there who didn't take the music educational route and yet still made it big.

Don't follow paths of famous people to success, try paving your own way :)

yes you will be famous artist but you wont last long look at the reality show contest participant most of them now are probably not even singing but if you know your stuff you will be remembered for a very long time:D

There are other ways to play music full time and earn a decent living.

Instead of playing music for commercial purposes, why not play music to help and to heal.

There are quite a few Singaporeans who play music in the clinical or pediatric setting and they earn a lot.

imagine playing hard rock in clinic to heal..
