Strat Pick-Up question

Guys,

Presently I am using a Fender American. Somehow or rather, i feel that the pick up have not enough "power". I play a wide range of songs from Metallica to Credence to Rod Stewart. I was thinking of changing the pick ups to Hot Rails, Cool Rails and Vintage Rails (as recomended by Seymour Duncan). Any thoughts on that??? Or any other pick ups suggestion??? Any suggestion would be welcome. Thanks.:-D

I use a Fender Hot Noiseless set on my Strat. Very versatile..sounds great clean and distorted..great for all kinds of music :)

U can also put a bridge humbucker if ur strat body is routed for HSS pickup configuration.

i think its not so much the pickup power as the amp power. use a marshall full stack and i swear the power will be there if u max the gain :D one great example of this is malmsteen. his bridge pickups are probably lower powered than ur neck pickup.

For your kinda setup, you'll need versatility.

I would recommend a hot hi power bridge (like a dimarzio fast track 2 or SD hot rail) and some hum cancelling stacks like the SD classic stacks or dimarzio areas in the middle and neck position.

This way, at least you'r not limited - you can have nice crystal cleans to all out metal riffing when you need it. Unless you'r some avid country picker who needs a single coil in the bridge at all costs - I'd advise you to get a coil tap so that you can tap the bridge humbucker if you need some bridge single coil tones.

Guys,
Thanks for the suggestion . Will be "Yahoo-ing" the suggestions to have a feel what they sound like. Btw I know that Davis brings in the Duncans and Swee Lee brings in the Dimazios but any other place that sells the pick ups???

Well you can try blackwood i think they stock some SDs and Dimarzios, although some of it may be second hand. Best is to go there and ask.
