Straplocks or guitar strap with built in straplocks thingy?

Huh, why you suddenly bring up such an old thread?
Anyway, I got the Dunlop straplocks on my bass, and they're pretty secure, but as Shredcow said, it's pretty noisy.

i dont really like schaller or dunlop type stray locks coz they kinda jut out too much, making it look a lil of a an eyesore. (my guitar being a heavy explorer, if i were to install those straplocks being, it'll neck dive even more)

and i cant use those planetwaves or dimarzio straps with straplocks coz they do not come with rough leather straps, reason being im playing a very neck heavy instrument, and the rough leather surface kinda grips onto my shoulder, stopping the neckdive.

so invested in $2 plastic strap locks, and its just as sturdy. But im not the kinda person who would swing my guitar around my neck or anything, my LTD explorer being pointy and all, could very well kill someone around me when i do so :D

if you love your current strap, just want it to be more secure, Dunlop's ERGO LOK might be the most economical solution. it's a plastic locking contraption to be fixed to your strap end after you've fixed your strap to you guitar. this product is available in the review database which is currently not restored yet 8)

How much: $3ea
Where to get: Davis
Compliant with majority of strap button sizes, except for PRS.

I'm using the Planet Waves one, worked fine so far. No paint removed from the body, never once did it dropped.. rather pleased with it! :D

talking abt straplocks, wonder why dunlop's r like one of the most popular... u need to use a flat base screwdriver to do removal... its quite absurb bad designs like this (for instance) gets to become the most popular choice 8O
