Static shocks from my RR24?!

I have just purchased a Jackson RR24 not long ago.

It comes with a floyd rose and a single active EMG 81.

The thing is.

I keep getting static shocks from the whammy bar and tuning pegs.

What could be the problem?

Hmm.

check the guitar through various amps and through your pedals, try to isolate the issue. I have a suspicion that your amp may not be grounded.

yea i really think its not grounded properly, mine F***ed XD the reason damn STATIC noise from amp,lol same shit here sorta,i feel your pain its an RR24 gotta love em V's \m/

i kept shocking my friends with static electricity in the jamming studio, because of the carpet and socks lol. are you playing on a carpet?

No i play on a wood floor.

And yes i think my amp is not grounded. Its only two pins.

Its a Peavey Envoy 110.

Any way i can rectify this problem? Change the pwr cable to three pin?

Thanks for replying guys! (:

yeah but make sure your power cable has three wires inside it. it would suck if you cut the plug off and only find 2 wires

well as kahuna said.. if your power cable is detachable, by all means go buy a cable with a 3 pin plug... if it's not then you'll have to chop it up..

Why can't i just buy another power cable which has a three pin plug?
Rather than converting a 2 pin to 3 pin?

that is because not all amps come with detachable cable with the 3 pins plug.

Some amps has that cable sticking out directly from the circuit board side. Cutting away the plug side and changing to a 3 pins head is definitely much more easier, then to totally remove the cable with the 2 pins and replace with the 3 pin one(which require opening up the amp and traced where the cable goes to, on the circuit.
