Stardust 2008 Competition

So far I don't think the acoustics had any problems, we had some really amazing playing going on in that room. Metal too.

=) Hope you guys felt comfortable coming by. I think you guys know who I am. =P

We're having another round of auditions tomorrow... Have no idea what the standard's gonna be like tomorrow. I'm still gonna be there.

=P

oh so you guys are supposed to be the first one. haha nah it's alright.
my band had to play first and we didnt have time for a last minute toilet break:p

i just came back from today's auditions. the organiser dude said there had been some sick auditions today. my band stuck around for awhile after our song, and we caught one band that was quite sick... not very encouraging!

i loved the fender bass amp, i ran my bass through an english muffn and it sounded fantastic. important cos the bassline for the song we played was overdiven for almost the entire song

We were the first band today (Audiocean), and we hung around for abit. The bands that played after us were all super tight except maybe for one. Haha we were kinda hoping that this competition will be full of umm 'shitty' bands but nope! Everyone's tight! we heard that the standard of this competition is better than expected. We also heard that they might let 15bands into the semis.

Thanks to the people of Anaki Studios, (Yi Jie? haha I'm sorry, I dont know how to spell!) Stardust and the judges, sorry if we were too crazy after our audition. We're just happy people. Haha.

Hahaz. Yi Zhe. =)

Thanks guys. Hope you guys enjoyed yourself. I hope it's been a good experience for you guys and hope that you guys would continue rocking even if you don't continue in this competition. =) Because seriously the standard, I can honestly say, is much better than what I often hear from "established bands". Proud of you guys man. =)

Really good job.

yeah well you have proven that if you organise a proper competition, you will get proper bands

the 'local scene' will only get better

Hahaz. Thanks so much. Doing our best to bring you guys the best that we can offer.

May this trend continue and more proper and good competitions come along. =)

All that we hope for is to help our local bands and singers have the opportunity to shine. =) Because we have the talent, but lack the opportunities and leaders.

ohhh yeah! the bands were really good! my band was like 30 minutes early (cause everyones always fashionably late for jam sessions so the leader had to lie abit) and i was sitting and waiting and about to sh*t in pants...like, literally. i gotta admit, i was pretty impressed...(considering that fact i was never a fan of the local scene) and oh, totally random, i love anaki records. besides the good equipment, gotta be the best looking studio around...with the owner's feminine touch to it...ooh, gotta love the red!

i'm from the band of nus law guys. but i'm not from nus though. just wondering, who is the lady judge?

Hahaz oh that's you. Lol

The bassist of that band. I remember =)

I guess you should know who I am. Anyway the lady is the OWNER, not the co-owner. Hahaz. She's someone who has been in the advertising industry, especially in the music sector, for a very long time.

Boon Gee is mainly our technical judge, meaning like technical skills of players and the nitty gritty details. Whereas for Juliana, she's more of the whole package, about what sells and what doesn't, though she knows quite a lot about music because she's very involved in it. Because you need both the music and the package, these two judges would give you a good balance of the two elements of making a great band/musician/singer => The artistic factor and the packaging factor. =)

That's in my own words. That's the reason why we had looked for them to work with us for this competition. =)
